He continued, "So, ultimately, if Mitch McConnell or John Boehner say that we need to go to catch a plane, I can't have Secret Service block the door way, right?"

The comment was in response to a reporter's question.

Now does Obama fit any of the characteristics of a dictator?  You know, a man who "has absolute power — or who at least behaves as if they do by bossing others around", or one " appointed temporarily to deal with an immediate crisis or emergency"? ........ Nah, not at all, couldn't be - right?

Also notice that the definition states a dictator as a "Roman magistrate". ... Now tell me who really runs things in Washington? And if Obama is a dictator, then he is a Roman Magistrate, working for Rome, and not the U.S.  ....... something to think about.

DENVER (CBS4) – A popular hunting shotgun could be banned under one of the bills moving through the state Capitol.

A pump or semi-automatic shotgun is the gun most hunters in Colorado use. It’s a gun state Sen. Greg Brophy, R-Wray, says could be banned under a bill that’s already passed the House and Gov. John Hickenlooper says he’ll sign.

“They’re coming after the standard shotgun,” Brophy told CBS4 Political Specialist Shaun Boyd.

Finnish police find ‘Jew list’ at neo-Nazi’s home

Finnish police have informed several members of the country’s Jewish community that a neo-Nazi activist has been gathering information about them.

Police sent a letter to an undisclosed number of individuals after finding details about Finnish Jews on a USB stick in the possession of a man arrested two months ago, according a report Friday in the Israeli daily Ma’ariv.

The man was taken into custody in connection with a stabbing that took place at the library of Jyvaskyla, a city 170 miles north of Helsinki, the Finnish capital. When police searched his apartment they found the USB stick containing a folder named “Jews.” It contained 300 photos and information, mostly about teenagers.

The name of the suspect was not disclosed as it is subject to a gag order. Finnish Jews have been instructed to exercise caution in revealing information about the events on Facebook and other social networks.

Household Incomes Drop by the Most in 20 Years

Consumer spending in the U.S. rose in January even as incomes dropped by the most in 20 years, showing households were weathering the payroll-tax increase by socking away less money in the bank.

Household purchases, which account for about 70 percent of the economy, climbed 0.2 percent after a 0.1 percent gain the prior month, a Commerce Department report showed today inWashington. The median estimate in a Bloomberg survey of 76 economists called for a 0.2 percent advance. Incomes slumped 3.6 percent, sending the saving rate down to the lowest level since November 2007.

New model of retirement, aka working forever. Americans woefully underprepared to face retirement and half of households have zero retirement plan.

Most Americans are incredibly unprepared when it comes to retirement.  The goal posts keep shifting.  Now for full retirement under Social Security people will need to retire at 67 versus 65.  What is rarely discussed is that rising Medicare premiums are being taken out of monthly payments so the amount being received is already shrinking while the cost of living is going up.  One startling piece of information that came out this year was that half of Americans are one tiny emergency away from being flat out broke.  No wonder why we have a record 47.6 million Americans now on food stamps.  When pensions were phased out starting in the 1980s many thought that the 401k or IRA would be the new way to save.  Hey, Americans will stuff their money into the stock market casino and after 30 years, they would have a million dollar nest egg thanks to compounding.  How did that work out?  Let us take a look at where things stand today.

The net worth of Americans

First, it is important to note that most Americans derive their net worth from real estate.  More to the point, the equity they have in their homes.  The stock market is largely a side show for most especially in today’s market where profits are being driven by overseas profits and cost cutting at home.  While the stock market is nearing its peak, real estate is still a long way from recovering all the losses that occurred:

This is problematic for two reasons. The first one is that real estate values are down by nearly 30 percent from their peak but Americans are still paying mortgages that reflect inflated values.  Second, the stock market recovery has been driven by hot easy money from the Fed versus organic growth to households wages.  As we’ve discussed before, the vast majority of financial wealth (i.e., stocks, bonds, etc) are held by the top 10 percent in the US and do not accurately reflect the health of the majority in the country.

Half of the country has no retirement plan.  That is, many will simply depend on Social Security to get by.  This is a startling fact given that we are seeing many baby boomers reach retirement age.  Since the press rarely covers the other half, let us take a look at those that actually do have a retirement plan.  How is the 401k and IRA model working out?

The above data is interesting.  This is only looking at people 55 to 64, supposedly those that were given the 401k and IRA path to success back three decades ago.  As they near retirement, how do things look?  Over half of this group has no retirement plan!  Keep in mind this is the baby boomer generation that lived with one of the biggest bull stock markets and also, a very strong real estate market.  Even with that said, the median net worth nearing retirement age is $120,000 for those with a 401K or IRAs.  At a safe withdrawal rate of 4 percent we are looking at $400 a month for those that actually planned or had the ability to save, let alone the other 52 percent that have no IRA or 401k.  Even the “planners” are planning on Social Security as the main source of their retirement funds.

Looking closer at the data, you will realize that many of those even with 401ks and IRAs are woefully unprepared.  What the three decade experience has taught us is that the 401k and IRA model really hasn’t worked well for most people.

Household net worth has been crushed for most families:

While the stock market is rallying and now the housing market is up, early signs show us that the housing market is being crowded out by investor money.  So local families are now competing with large investors that are buying up properties chasing higher yields.  Then those that rent, are having to dish out more of their disposable income simply for shelter. No inflation?  Only if you are sticking your head in the sand and ignoring reality.

The fact of the matter is retirement has become a distant dream for most.  A mirage in the fast money nation where Congress has mostly millionaires looking out for one another.  Nothing wrong with making money but do not think that you have a chance gambling in this casino where short-term gains are rewarded via cutting profits or betting on the short side.  Now that millions have lost their home via foreclosure, you have Wall Street, primarily the system that created the housing bubble, diving back in to pick up properties on the cheap.  They’ll rent these out to you or sell it back to you but for a big profit.  Those retirement plans are going to be put on a permanent hold for many.  In other words, you are going to work forever.

JERUSALEM –  A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip struck Israel on Tuesday as tensions are mounting in the region weeks ahead of President Barack Obama's visit.

Militants claiming affiliation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement took responsibility for the attack, saying they fired the rocket to avenge the death of a Palestinian in Israeli custody.

The detainee, Arafat Jaradat, 30, died over the weekend after interrogation by Israel's Shin Bet security services. Palestinian officials, citing an autopsy, said the detainee was tortured, while Israel says more tests are needed to determine the cause of death.

Jaradat's death sparked protests in the West Bank, including near the town of Bethlehem on Monday.

Two Palestinian teens, ages 13 and 16, were wounded in a confrontation with Israeli soldiers. The older boy was transferred to Jerusalem's Hadassah Hospital after being shot in the head and was in critical condition Tuesday, breathing through a respirator, officials said.

In the West Bank, Abbas on Tuesday accused the Israeli military of using increasingly harsh methods to clamp down on Palestinian rock-throwing protests.

20 Signs That The U.S. Economy Is Heading For Big Trouble In The Months Ahead

Is the U.S. economy about to experience a major downturn?  Unfortunately, there are a whole bunch of signs that economic activity in the United States is really slowing down right now.  Freight volumes and freight expenditures are way down, consumer confidence has declined sharply, major retail chains all over America are closing hundreds of stores, and the "sequester" threatens to give the American people their first significant opportunity to experience what "austerity" tastes like.  Gas prices are going up rapidly, corporate insiders are dumping massive amounts of stock and there are high profile corporate bankruptcies in the news almost every single day now.  In many ways, what we are going through right now feels very similar to 2008 before the crash happened.  Back then the warning signs of economic trouble were very obvious, but our politicians and the mainstream media insisted that everything was just fine, and the stock market was very much detached from reality.  When the stock market did finally catch up with reality, it happened very, very rapidly.  Sadly, most people do not appear to have learned any lessons from the crisis of 2008.  Americans continue to rack upstaggering amounts of debt, and Wall Street is more reckless than ever.  As a society, we seem to have concluded that 2008 was just a temporary malfunction rather than an indication that our entire system was fundamentally flawed.  In the end, we will pay a great price for our overconfidence and our recklessness.

So what will the rest of 2013 bring?

Hopefully the economy will remain stable for as long as possible, but right now things do not look particularly promising.

What European Recovery? Unemployment at record high and debt only keeps reaching more unsustainable levels. Italy’s Debt to GDP crosses 125 percent.

I never understood why so many people bought into the notion that the European Union was recovering.  If recovery means that a handful of well-connected bankers are bailed out with financial smoke and mirrors instead of facing reality while placing crushing austerity on the public, then yes, maybe a recovery is what was experienced.  As of the writing of this article the EU is facing its highest unemployment rate on record.  How is this even remotely positive or perceived as a recovery?  In Greece, the politicians and some in the public are trying to go after people that accurately stated that yes, there is in fact too much debt.  In Italy, a party led by a former comic did surprisingly well and it appears that there is no clear path ahead for the country.  The amount of debt in the EU is comical so it is apropos that a comedian should do so well.  There is nothing remotely resembling a recovery in the EU if we look outside of the banking sector which does a very poor job at reflecting the true state of the economy.

Certainly workers across the EU do not feel that this is some sort of recovery:

The markets were acting today as if this were some revelation especially with the elections in Italy.  No, as the chart above highlights unemployment in the EU is at a peak level and never looked back since 2008.  Why did the elections in Italy set off the market today?  First, the real economy in Italy is truly contracting:

Italy is deep in recession.  The country appears to have slipped back into recession.  The unemployment rate is above 11 percent but for young Italians, it is well above 30 percent.  There seems to be a western problem for young workers.  But what is more problematic with Italy is the gigantic levels of debt relative to production.  As we just mentioned, production is contracting and debt is growing.  This is usually an unsustainable trend:

Since 2008 Debt-to-GDP in Italy went from roughly 100 percent to over 125 percent.  We’ve discussed this in the past that countries seem to reach a tipping point when Debt-to-GDP hits 100 percent.  The elections in Italy show a deep distrust of government and a growing resentment of what is transpiring.  Yet Italy is not the only one in this predicament.  Spain with a youth unemployment rate of 50 percent is seeing massive issues as well:

Spain’s debt has also crossed the 100 percent Rubicon.  This is simply unsustainable and once the market realizes this it begins to punish these countries.  The market for whatever reason, went into a debt addicted hibernation this last year or so.  What you now see is some reemerging characters taking advantage of the situation:

This time around, in an age of wrenching austerity, he had a very simple campaign strategy: throw around the cash.

Berlusconi has promised to give back an unpopular property tax imposed by Monti — with money from his own deep pockets, if need be.”          

You can understand why this strategy would work in a time of austerity.  People view the banks as being able to have their cake and eat it too with central banking fiat partyingwhile the public needs to take their hard and unsavory medicine.  And that really is one of the hidden secrets of this current austerity movement; the only people dealing with austerity are those outside of the financial sector.

Portugal is another country that has crossed the 100 percent Debt-to-GDP ratio:

The reason this barrier is important is because you enter a position where you are essentially spending more than you produce.  At a very simplistic level, you can see a household that makes $50,000 that goes into $100,000 of credit card debt is in deep problems.  Governments face similar constraints.  If they didn’t Zimbabwe would be the model when it came to money printing.

Obama is toiling hard to destabilize and CRASH the US economy, so that from its ashes he can "fundamentally transform" the United States of America just like he always said he was planning to do (only you thought it meant something else). Since coming into office, Obama has more than DOUBLED Bush's deficits after promising to cut them in half by the end of his 1st term; and with no slowdown in sight. No one is THAT incompetent unless they're seeking to intentionally derail the US economy. Pay attention to what this man DOES not what he SAYS. In a rare admission, Robert Gibbs, the former White House Press Secretary under Obama, told reporters Sunday that he was ordered to act as if there was no such thing as an active US drone program.

“When I went through the process of becoming press secretary, one of the first things they told me was, you’re not even to acknowledge the drone program,” Gibbs said on MSNBC’s “Up With Chris Hayes” this past weekend.

Gibbs said that he was told “You’re not even to discuss that it exists.”

Noting that the notion was “inherently crazy”, Gibbs said “You’re being asked a question based on reporting of a program that exists.”

“So you’re the official government spokesperson acting as if the entire program—pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.” Gibbs, who was Press Secretary between 2009 and 2011, said.

As we have tirelessly noted, the Obama administration has been heavily criticized for blocking the release of information relating to its overseas drone assassination programme, and will not even officially acknowledge that it exists, despite countless public references to the programme and the proven existence of an official “kill list”.

Gibbs stated that he expects the drone program to remain secret for the most part, despite moves in Congress to force more transparency.

“I have not talked to him about this, so I want to be careful,” Gibbs said, “but I think what the president has seen is, our denial of the existence of the program when it’s obviously happening undermines people’s confidence overall in the decisions that their government makes.”

While the program itself remains classified, it is no secret that Obama has vastly expanded the US drone war since entering office in 2009. Daily drone strikes are raining down on Yemen, Pakistan and Afghanistan, as well as Somalia.

A recent report released by Washington based think tank, The New America Foundation revealed that the number of secret US drone strikes in Yemen almost tripled in 2012, compared to 2011.

The Bureau of Investigative Journalism, has found that at least 171 civilians, including 35 children, have been slaughtered in Yemen by secret US drone strikes over the past ten years.

Communications released by WikiLeaks in 2010 revealed that the US and Yemen have repeatedly attempted to cover up the use of US warplanes to bombard Yemen.

Last week it was announced that despite the fact that drone strikes have killed thousands of innocent civilians in Yemen and Pakistan, the Pentagon is to reward drone operators with medals.

The DoD is creating a new ribbon, called the Distinguished Warfare Medal that will be awarded for “extra achievement” related to a military operation. This will encompass sitting at a computer console and pressing a button to release Hellfire missiles from Predator drones hundreds and thousands of miles away.

The medal will become the fourth-highest ranking combat decoration, placing above the Bronze Star.

Despite the official secrecy, the president has referred to the drone program several times in public, as have officials such as counter-terrorism adviser John Brennan.

Last year, the New York Times ran a major piece on the program revealing that the White House has asserted the right to carry out state-sponsored assassination anywhere in the world without having to provide any evidence or go through any legal process.

The administration merely has to state that the target is a terrorist and it doesn’t matter whether they are an American citizen or not, as we saw in the case of American-born Anwar al-Awlaki and his son, who were both killed last year.

In December of last year, Obama administration lawyers reaffirmed their backing for state sponsored assassination, claiming that “U.S. citizens are legitimate military targets” and do not have the right to any legal protection against being marked for summary execution.

During a CBS 60 Minutes interview in January, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta revealed that Obama himself personally approves the policy to kill American citizens suspected of terrorism without trial on a case by case basis.

Perhaps the real reason that the administration wants the details of the programme kept under wraps is that, as reported by Propublica recently, the programme is potentially much bigger in scope than anyone had previously thought.

The administration’s figures do not add up, they are chock full of contradictions and discrepancies, and there can be little doubt that there have been many many more civilian deaths as a result of drone attacks than have been publicly acknowledged.

Experts, including UN special rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions Christof Heyns, as well as Pakistan’s UN ambassador in Geneva, Zamir Akram, have described the drone assassination programme as a violation of the international legal system, saying that some attacks may constitute war crimes.

Akram, who noted that US drone strikes had killed more than 1,000 civilians in Pakistan, also said “We find the use of drones to be totally counterproductive in terms of succeeding in the ‘war against terror’. It leads to greater levels of terror rather than reducing them.

Many also contend that the attacks infringe the national sovereignty of Pakistan and constitute an act of war.

In 2010, a report by Washington think tank The New America Foundation found that 32% of the more than 1,200 people killed since 2004 in Pakistan, or around 1 in 3, were innocent bystanders rather than dangerous terrorists.

When Will The "Rapture" Take Place - Before, or after the Tribulation?

Most of Christianity teaches the "Pre-tribulation" doctrine. I believe however, that the "Rapture" - or catching away to meet Messiah "in the clouds" will be after the tribulation. I have taught this for years, as many of my friends and those who have studied with me will tell you.

I believe it is important to understand the sequence of events that will sooner or later transpire bringing ultimately the Second Coming of the Messiah.

I stumbled across a good Documentary and watched it a couple of weeks back, and then ran across an interview of the same Pastor who made the documentary, so I have decided to post both the interview and the film itself, and give you the opportunity to reconsider your belief concerning the endtimes, and the coming of Messiah.

Note: While some of my views concerning the Two Beasts, and the Antichrist may differ somewhat from the views of the pastor in the documentary, my basic belief in a post-tribulation "rapture" is in close agreement with his teaching.

Christopher Jordan Dorner died February 12 during a deadly exchange with police in the Big Bear Forest in the San Bernadino Mountains of California.

The cabin he was in at the time had erupted in flames.

Officials, after recovering his charred remains, identified the cause of death as a single bullet to the head.

Questions have surfaced about the circumstances of his death, and particularly the fire which engulfed the cabin he was in. While the San Bernadino Sheriff’s Department denies setting the blaze, there exists on police scanners audio in which officers can distinctly be heard calling for the ‘plan’ to be implemented and to ‘burn the f—ing house down.’

A highly decorated, honorably discharged naval reserves officer, Dorner put up an online manifesto explaining his one man war against the LAPD.

He had explained the culture of racism, sadism, and extra-judicial killings and other criminal behaviour that infests the department. He himself was fired after attempting to report the brutal behaviour of a fellow officer only to be accused of lying about the incident. He maintains that he was basically fired for “being an honest cop.”

One individual who finds Dorner’s allegations of injustice in the LAPD credible is investigative journalist, author and radio host Michael Ruppert. Ruppert, a former LAPD narcotics officer tried to expose the CIA trafficking of drugs in 1977 only to be forced out of the LAPD in ’78. Ruppert notes that he had high ratings reports at the time and no pending disciplinary actions against him.

DOJ Memo: Outlaw and Confiscate All Guns

DOJ memo states: “Buybacks are ineffective unless massive and coupled with a ban.”

The National Rifle Association has obtained a Department of Justice memo calling for national gun registration and confiscation. The nine page “cursory summary” on current gun control initiatives was not officially released by the Obama administration.

The DOJ memo (downloadable here as a PDF) states the administration “believes that a gun ban will not work without mandatory gun confiscation,” according to the NRA, and thinks universal background checks “won’t work without requiring national gun registration.” Obama has yet to publicly support national registration or firearms confiscation, although the memo reveals his administration is moving in that direction.

The memo stands in stark contrast to the administration’s public stance on so-called gun control. White House spokesman Jay Carney said last month that laws proposed by Obama would not “take away a gun from a single law-abiding American.”

The NRA declined to explain how it obtained the document. The memo was written by the acting director of the Justice Department’s National Institute of Justice, Greg Ridgeway. It is dated January 4, two weeks before Obama mounted his attack on the Second Amendment following the Sandy Hook massacre. Ridgeway came to the Justice Department from the RAND corporation.

The memo says universal background checks on firearms purchases may help the government push to control and eventually outlaw firearms, but it would lead to an increase in illegally purchased guns.

It pointed out that banning high capacity ammunition clips would be ineffective due to the fact there is a large number of them already in circulation.

A Justice Department official said the memo is an unfinished review of gun violence research and does not represent administration policy.

The DOJ memo arrived a few weeks prior to a letter sent out by the Department of Veterans Affairs. “A determination of incompetency will prohibit you from purchasing, possessing, receiving, or transporting a firearm or ammunition,” the sent to military veterans states. “If you knowingly violate any of these prohibitions, you may be fined, imprisoned, or both pursuant to the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, Pub.L.No. 103-159, as implemented at 18, United States Code 924(a)(2).”

“US veterans are receiving letters from the government informing them that they are disabled and not allowed to own, purchase or possess a firearm. If the veteran does decide to purchase a firearm he will by fined, imprisoned or both,” the Gateway Pundit remarked.

From the very beginning of this arduous investigation, we knew we were facing a daunting task. To breach that labyrinthine monument to religion, the Roman Catholic Church, and to ascertain subterranean secrets concealed beneath its layers of classified documentation had been tried and failed by thousands before us. The Vatican is impenetrable, we were warned, the very inventor of the term “above top secret.” As the world’s oldest-running bureaucracy, it is an amalgamation of secrets, vaults, and esoteric traditions dating back to the Dark Ages. Steeped in complexity and guarded by a procession of popes, cardinals, and multileveled priests, it is obsessed with maintaining “the need to know.” When spokesmen for the Church do tantalize the outside world with commentary, it often turns out to be duplicity designed to keep researchers running in circles and in the wrong direction. And yet, of late, we had heard enough consistency from Jesuit astronomers to wonder now if, for some reason, Rome was intentionally moving the religious world toward accepting a definite revelation, a period in time coupled with a momentous disclosure that somehow required specific public comments and the development of theological arguments concerning extraterrestrial intelligence that ultimately will, they believe, impact the religion of Christianity.

On this, we will be providing: 1) first-person testimonies by high-ranking authorities that agree with the assessment above; 2) documents and newly drafted scholarly papers by Vatican academics that substantiate our conclusions; and 3) the threshold of what is called in the court system “a presumption of fact.” When reading Exo-Vaticana, readers will find the number of documents and the amount of commentary evidence on the part of Rome’s astronomers and the Vatican’s emerging theology as conveyed therein to be conclusive beyond reasonable doubt that the Vatican has intentionally positioned itself to be the religious authority on, and ecclesiastical benefactor of, Official Disclosure: the imminent and authorized public admission by world governments of advanced extraterrestrial intelligence.

Why the Vatican has taken this carefully designed and deliberate course overthe last few years is the greater mystery, but implies knowledge on their part of facts yet hidden to most of the world that may hold far-reaching and historic implications. It also illustrates how Rome has wittingly or unwittingly set itself up to become the agent of mass end-times deception regarding “salvation from above.” That’s because, historically, there exists a clear pattern wherein man’s psychological need of a savior is displayed during times of distress—a time like today—when people look skyward for divine intervention. As Ted Peters, professor of systematic theology at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, wrote, “With the constant threat of thermonuclear destruction in the post-World War II era leaving our planet in a state of insecurity and anxiety, it is no wonder many have begun to hope for a messiah to save us. The holiness of the sky and the need for a salvation converge and blend when the bright clean powerful UFO zooms up onto the horizon. Could it be our celestial savior?”[i] Jesuit Brother Guy Consolmagno must think so, as he assured us that if highly advanced ET saviors from outer space touch down on planet Earth soon, it will not mean what Catholics believe is wrong, but rather, “We’re going to find out that everything is truer in ways we couldn’t even yet have imagined.”[ii]

In truth, Consolmagno’s advice for the religious faithful could be leading mankind into a gigantic setup, as many religions have at least one apocalyptic myth describing the end of the world accompanied by a redeemer who appears in the sky at the last minute to rescue the chosen from annihilation or wrath. Mayans, Assyrians, Egyptians, and Greeks held similar beliefs, while the Hopi Indians foresee times of great hardship when they will be preserved by the “power” of a blue star, far off and invisible, that suddenly makes its appearance in the heavens. Today, even factions of the New Age look for a techno-savior to arrive in the atmosphere in the nick of time to save mankind. Although Jesus, Himself, is prophesied to appear in the clouds during an era of great earthly trials (1 Thessalonians 4:16–18), predominant among prophecy scholars is the idea that coupled with any heavenly appearing and concurrent salvation of believers from chaos will first be the materialization of a false Christ or “man of sin.” Where Hopi see a blue star and Vatican astronomers see their “space brothers” en route to guide us into the light, evangelical Christians understand the Antichrist will initially assume the role of a fabricated end-times messiah who mimics the return of Christ with a false second coming that also happens to be attended by heavenly “signs and lying wonders” (2 Thessalonians 2:8–9). Could these deceptive “wonders” be: 1) the discovery of artificial structures on another world; 2) a “contact” scenario, or; 3) maybe even something more dramatic, like a flying saucer armada piloted by creatures who appear to be advanced humanoids but who are in fact evil supernaturalism on a quest to mislead and destroy the human race? Even secular ufologists suspect demonic activity in the interaction between humans and “aliens.” Whitley Streiber, author of Communion and other books on the subject, once wrote: “There are worse things than death, I suspected. And I was beginning to get the distinct impression that one of them had taken an interest in me. So far the word demon had never been spoken among the scientists and doctors who were working with me. And why should it have been? We were beyond such things. We were a group of atheists and agnostics, far too sophisticated to be concerned with such archaic ideas as demons and angels” (emphasis added).[iii]
