Photos: U.S. Army Domestic Quick Reaction Force Riot Control Training

The following photos are from March and February of this year and were taken at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.  The first four photos from March depict riot control training for a “domestic quick reaction force” that would aid in civil disturbances.  The second set of photos from February depict the 67th Military Police Company that typically mans the area’s Regional Correctional Facility attempting to quell riots among “restless prison inmates” that have created a disturbance.  The photos are similar to a collection from May 2010 that depict several National Guard units from different parts of the U.S. quelling protesters in mock communities holding signs that say “Food Now”. A description of one of the events was posted to Facebook by the U.S. Army’s 5th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment:
The Soldiers in a closed formation bang their batons in cadence against their shields as an angry mob approaches.
“When I initially picked up my shield, the thought of the movie 300 was the first thing that came to mind,” said Spc. Kyle Wilhelmi.
Teams of Soldiers assigned to 3rd Squadron, 38th Cavalry Regiment, 201st Battlefield Surveillance Brigade conducted civil disturbance training here March 13. The Soldiers, though not quite Spartans, are effectively training to hold their line and successfully control crowds if called upon for a civil disturbance.
Soldiers with shields, batons and rifles pushed through and maintained a dominant stance against a mob of about 40 civilians. The riot escalated as the crowd began throwing snowballs, slurred profanity and made offensive gestures at the Soldiers. The more forceful members of the mob charged the Soldiers but were easily pushed back, as many often fell to the icy surface.
The overall goal of riot control group (RCG) is to control the crowd using less than lethal force.

Rothschild clan moves to cement its grip

April 6, 2012
More than two centuries after his Frankfurt-based ancestor Mayer Amschel Rothschild sent his sons to Paris, London, Naples and Vienna to create what became known as “the world’s banker”, Baron David de Rothschild is set to close the final chapter in the reunification of his sprawling family dynasty.
The 69-year-old chairman of the Rothschild group is bringing together its French and UK assets under the roof of Paris Orléans, a French listed entity with its roots in a 19th-century railway company.
The move will mark the last step in a process that started a decade ago of integrating the French banking operations with NM Rothschild, the UK-based investment bank that rose to fame in 1815 when Amschel’s son Nathan Meyer Rothschild made a fortune buying British government bonds in anticipation of Napoleon’s defeat at Waterloo.

Here we go again. Recently, Obama falsely claimed that Planned Parenthood provides  "preventive care, like mammograms, that millions of women rely on" while speaking to the White House Forum on Women and the Economy.

I reported on this subject back on  April 5, 2011 when Planned Parenthood President Cecil Richards falsely made the same statement on CNN news, claiming mammograms are one of the services provided by the organization. When the organization's offices were called, each admitted that mammograms are not provided. The segment begins at the 5:22 mark in the video below:

UN-Sponsored Scientists Push for Global Government

The New American
April 7, 2012

A team of United Nations-sponsored scientists is pushing for global government through a short film they released. The promo for the film, Welcome to the Anthropocene, contends it is “the story of how one species changed a planet.” The website promoting it indicates that it was set up by “researchers and communicators from some of the leading scientific research institutions on global sustainability.”
The film introduces nothing new in the area of science, prattling on with the same agenda with which the American people have become familiar: the Earth is overpopulated, the ice caps are melting, the sea level is rising, etc.
The solution to these disastrous elements, according to the film, is global government.
The scientific institutions behind Welcome are the Stockholm Environment Institute, the Geosphere-Biosphere Programme, Stockholm University, and other organizations well known for advocating global governance.
Key climate change scientists feature the short film on their own website, including the one who stated that anyone who questions the notion of climate change is mentally ill, and have used it to call for global government to correct “human-induced climate change.”
The State of the Planet Declaration issued by the UN-backed organization advocates world government, which it calls “Earth System Governance.” The declaration reads:
Governments must take action to support institutions and mechanisms that will improve coherence, as well as bring about integrated policy and action across the social, economic and environmental pillars. Current understanding supports the creation of a Sustainable Development Council within the UN system to integrate social, economic and environmental policy at the global level. There is also strong support for strengthening global governance by including civil society, business and industry in decision-making at all levels.
The measures required to “strengthen” global governance includes “continued exploration of new areas of knowledge, such as theoretical and applied research in behavioural science.”

This Month In Fascism

America Slides Into Fascism
The U.S. Supreme Court, based on the urging of the Obama administration, has ruled that any prisoner – even those arrested for offenses such as dog leash laws, peaceful protests, or driving with an expired license – can be subject to a routine strip search upon entering prison.
The government is openly saying that it will use all of our smart devices, internet connections, and tv to spy on Americans.
President Obama has issued an executive order entitled “National Defense Resources Preparedness”, which instructs the heads of various U.S. agencies to be on standby for authorization of martial law under by the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. The order in fact gives Executive Branch immediate to power to seize and control of any and all assets declared as critical to maintain its industrial and technological base and to control the general distribution of any material (including applicable services) in the civilian market. The order further authorizes the immediate issuance of regulations to allocate, ration, or seize and all materials, including every thing from food, live stock and farm equipment to transportation, energy and even water. (However, some commentators say that this new executive order is only a minor tweak of previous executive orders dating back to 1994.)
Yawning or having goose bumps have been added to the list of things acts which might get you labeled as a potential terrorist.
Senators Ron Wyden and Mark Udall recently made a statement that Americans would be “stunned” if they knew how the American Government is interpreting, applying and using the Patriot Act:
The National Security Agency is building a $2 billion dollar facility in Utah which will use the world’s most powerful supercomputer to monitor virtually all phone calls, emails, internet usage, purchases and rentals, break all encryption, and then store everyone’s data permanently.
A former head of the program held his thumb and forefinger close together, and said:
We are, like, that far from a turnkey totalitarian state.

NFP Big Miss: 120K, Expectations 205K, Unemployment 8.2%, "Not In Labor Force" At New All Time High

April 6, 2012

March NFP big miss at just 120K. Unemployment rate declines from 8.3% to 8.2%. Futures slide, for at least a few minutes before the NEW QE TM rumor starts spreading. The household survey actually posted a decline in March from 142,065 to 142,034. Considering Birth Death added 90K to the NSA number, the actual number was almost unchanged. And as always,as we predicted when Goldman hiked its NFP forecast yesterday from 175K to 200K saying "if Goldman's recent predictive track record is any indication, tomorrow's NFP will be a disaster", Goldie once again skewers everyone. Finally, Joe LaVorgna's +250,000 forecast was just 100% off... as usual.
The unemployment rate drops to 8.2% for one simple reason: the number of people not in the labor force is back to all time highs: 87,897,000.

Neo-Nazis are reportedly patrolling Sanford, Fla. where unarmed teen Trayvon Martin was shot and killed on Feb. 26.

The Trayvon Martin case is getting even more heated as armed neo-Nazis are reportedly patrolling the streets of Sanford, Fla.-where the black, unarmed teen was shot and killed.
A representative for the Detroit-based National Socialist movement told the Miami New Times that his group of roughly 10 to 20 volunteers aren’t there to start trouble, but are prepared to protect the “white citizens in the area” in the event of race riots.
“Whenever there is one of these racially charged events, Al Sharpton goes wherever blacks need him,” Jeff Schoep of the National Socialist Movement told the news organization. “We do similar things. We are a white civil rights organization…We are not the type of white people who are going to be walked all over.”

Paramilitary Gangs Join UN Force in Preying on Haitian Population

Dady CheryApril 5, 2012
HAITI – For several weeks, armed groups of young black men, presumably Haitian and too young to be veterans of the Haitian Armed Forces (Forces Armees d’Haiti, FAd’H) disbanded in 1995, have been parading in military fatigues through Haitian towns. Some politicians and the Haitian press have been calling these men “former soldiers.” For the sake of accuracy, let us forgo this awkward and unfounded label and call them “men” or “gangs.” These marching men claim they want to enforce respect for the national sovereignty and get their back pay. One suspects their priorities are reversed.
These gangs have been around for months, but their more public appearances immediately followed massive demonstrations on February 29 to commemorate the 2004 coup against Aristide. The march had been organized by a new party of Lavalas supporters called “Ghettos-Unis” (United Ghettos). Over 10,000 people marched through Port-au-Prince chanting:
“Yes to democracy, no to reinstatement of dictatorship!”
… and proclaiming
“Intimidations will not make us back down! We don’t need your motorcycles, give your passport instead!”
with reference to Martelly’s refusal to deliver his passport to a Senate Committee investigating the citizenship of various government officials.
The appearance of the armed gangs has coincided with a rash of murders by gunfire. At least three members of the Haitian National Police (PNH), one lawyer and a well-known painter were killed this month (March 2011), but the most famous victims of the crime spree have been Jean Liphete (Ti Lifet) Nelson and Jean-Baptiste Jean-Philippe (Samba Boukman), both politically outspoken Fanmi Lavalas members and accomplished individuals who could probably have qualified for political office if this had been their ambition.
Unlike many of Haiti’s top politicians of dubious citizenship, Ti Lifet was born in Cite Soleil in 1974 and lived there all his life. He initiated among many things, Cite Soleil’s Radio Boukman which he was running, along with other projects that provided schooling for children, hot meals for elderly poor, and mobile clinics for the sick. He was loved and widely respected.
Samba Boukman was a charismatic musician and militant who is best known for having helped to broker a truce between the poor neighborhood of Bel-Air’s armed Lavalas partisans and the UN, when MINUSTAH was randomly blasting these neighborhoods with gunfire from tanks and helicopters after Aristide’s removal.
In addition Reginald Antoine, a labor leader and Director of Platform for Workers Unjustly Fired from Public Administration (Plateforme des Employés Injustement Révoqués de l’Administration Publique, PEVEP) had his entire entire family (sister and brother in law, and two children 2 and 10) killed by explosives on March 13 (AHP). Members of PEVEP had been protesting and demanding the benefits associated with their severance.

The phony economic deception machine – JP Morgan Chase CEO earns $23 million in 2011 while 2.7 million foreclosures are filed in the US. GDP at record levels but employment figures down by 5.3 million from their peak.

MyBudget360.com

The US economic and political system is doing an excellent job sealing off opportunities for millions that aspire to be part of the middle class.  Many are starting to realize that the system is rigged in favor of large financial institutions and those with political connections.  The idea of raw success based on talent can be thrown out the window with the corporate welfare generosity leveled at the too big to fail financial institutions.  Many Americans are being told that forced austerity is a necessary part of rebalancing yet the CEO of JP Morgan Chase just received $23 million in 2011 while tens of thousands of foreclosures riddled Chase’s balance sheet.  Earned success?  If we examine real GDP the facts show the US economy is as large as it has ever been but we are running it with over 5,300,000+ fewer workers.  The system is designed to extract economic rents from the public and drive them into a few select sectors.  The working and middle class are feeling this change deeply as noted by the over 5 million fewer workers that we have.
GDP versus Employment
An interesting chart is examining real GDP and total US employment:
gdp and jobs
The above chart is interesting because it tells us two important things:
1.  The US economy overall as measured by GDP is at a high point
2.  Employment is still 5.3+ million below the peak in 2007
Many of the lost jobs that hit in this recession have come at the expense of the working and middle class.  Many new workers were brought on with leaner wages and practically no future job security.  This is happening while large financial institutions have built-in golden parachutes that come at the public’s expense.  This isn’t merely speculation, this is fact and we need only look at the Federal Reserve balance sheet to verify this:
Fed reserve balance sheet 2012
What is going on here?  The Fed is serving as dumping ground for all the toxic assets from the too big to fail banks.  The balance sheet has not retreated.  Many of these assets have no real market so they sit in purgatory on the Fed’s balance sheet.  Things are obviously going well when $23 million annual earnings are being made in the financial sector all the while junk debt and collateral sit in the Fed.  Is it any wonder that inflation is now picking up steam as we are printing our way out of this mess and of course much of this is carried by the public?

Elites Destroy Endangered Species on Purpose?

Daily BellApril 7, 2012
Tiger decline is ‘sign of world’s failure’ … Governments need to crack down on illegal tiger trading if the big cats are to be saved, the UN has warned. The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) meeting in Doha, Qatar heard that tiger numbers are continuing to fall. Organised crime rings are playing an increasing part in illegal trading of tiger parts, CITES says, as they are with bears, rhinos and elephants.Interpol is working with CITES to track and curb the international trade. Last year, World Bank chief Robert Zoellick said the global black market in wildlife products was worth about $10bn per year, making wildlife the third most valuable illicit commodity after drugs and weapons. Despite attempts to protect tigers, numbers have approximately halved over the last decade, with fewer than 3,200 remaining in the wild. – BBC

Dominant Social Theme: A crisis … and government has to solve it!
Free-Market Analysis: The modest paradigm that animates these pages is that a power elite uses fear-based promotions to frighten people into accepting globalist solutions – answers that would not otherwise be considered.
No one, for instance, gets up one morning and thinks to himself that he ought to create an international body of nation-states attended by governments around the world and dedicated to world peace and eradicating human misery.
Someone did, however – or various someones – and thus we are saddled today with the incomparably corrupt United Nations. This august body has done more, in our view, to retard world peace and create conditions of poverty and misery than could have been imagined during its inception.
Does this sound harsh? In fact, all elitist institutions do approximately the opposite of what they are said to do. Monopoly central banks are inflation engines. NATO “peacekeeping” missions often end up creating and prosecuting wars. The Western “free press” is actually a rigorously controlled one.
The power elite that hopes to run the world builds global government piece by piece using facilities that have the most innocent sounding names and the most admirable briefs. Yet as the Internet – and what we call the Internet Reformation – has shown us clearly is that these organizations often accomplish more harm than good.

World food prices rise further, raising fears of unrest

Reuters
April 5, 2012
Global food prices rose in March for a third straight month with more hikes to come, the UN’s food agency said on Thursday, adding to fears of hunger and a new wave of social unrest in poor countries.
Record high prices for staple foods last year were one of the main factors that contributed to the Arab Spring uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as bread riots in other parts of the world.
The cost of food has risen again this year after coming down from a February 2011 record peak.

The creeping cost of consumer inflation brought to you by a lower US dollar – Americans squeezed as inflation filters into the cost of daily life. The uncertain employment market of low wage work.

MyBudget360
April 2, 2012

There are unintended consequences when policy aims at depreciating a currency in favor of bolstering an ailing banking system.  The Federal Reserve has been on a multi-decade mission to lower the value of the US dollar.  The primary purpose of this mission is to inflate banks into solvency as they try to work their way out of the massive financial crisis.  The amount of troubled real estate loans is still impressive when we look at the temporary sanctuary being provided by the Federal Reserve on their overloaded balance sheet.  This luxury is not afforded to your common household and consequently many Americans are now facing higher and higher costs in items like energy even though demand is slightly lower.  This occurs for a variety of reasons but a main driver is the declining purchasing power of the US dollar.  This permeates over into the employment market that is largely being driven by lower wage positions.  Inflation is creeping back into the economy.
Consumer inflation now edging back up
Since our economy is fantastically debt based and debt is the medium of exchange, more debt is likely to produce higher prices given the same amount of goods.  Typically this equation is leveled at the money supply but our system is one in which debt rules supreme.  While households are in the painful process of deleveraging, debt has increased overall because of banking bailouts but also government spending.  For this, we are seeing consumer inflation pickup:
consumer inflation
The inflation rate has been moving up since the crisis hit a trough in 2009.  Americans are facing higher prices in a variety of sectors including healthcare, energy, food, and higher education.  Ironically inflation is hitting in many of the cornerstones of what was once thought to be part of a middle class lifestyle.  The recent push in prices has largely come from the higher prices in energy:
inflation
Total energy costs are up 7 percent over the last 12 months while wages have gone stagnant.  Gasoline has seen the largest push up in the last year moving up by 12.6 percent.  Looking at food, the total cost of food has gone up by 3.9 percent over the last 12 months.  Of course much of this is synergistic with the rise in energy given that food is transported and also produced with high levels of energy usage.  The interesting point here is that energy usage overall has not necessarily surged in the US to justify this movement.  This is largely being driven by an overall depreciation in the US dollar:
us dollar
The US dollar has lost over 50 percent of its purchasing power since the 1980s.  It is no coincidence that global goods like food and energy are now more expensive.  This is problematic since Americans are seeing little growth in their wages.  The stagnant wage dilemma has been in effect for well over a decade now.

Impact of low wage employment
Just take a look at some of the top employment sectors in our economy:
employment by sector
The top three employment fields in our country are:
1.  Office and administrative support work
2.  Sales & Related
3.  Food preparation and serving related
In the past, a large portion of our labor force was in good paying manufacturing positions.  Now, the low wage labor force dominates. This is a major driving force for the slow disappearance of the US middle class.  Some of the higher paying positions require high levels of specialization and schooling, certainly in healthcare and technology positions.  These industries however employ a smaller part of the entire labor force as the chart above indicates.
Overall there are many challenges looming on the horizon.  There is definitely a divide in the country where the middle class is shrinking.  Many of the good paying jobs are in what are known as the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, math) and on the flip side you have many colleges for example catering to fields that are lower paying yet charging absurd fees pushing many students into enormous debt.  The for-profits in many cases produce degrees that yield very little return once students graduate.
This is why another interesting chart to examine is the number of positions opening up and those being hired:
job openings job hires
While job opening have certainly moved higher up, I find it interesting that actual hires have been rather steady since the recession ended.  Could it be that many of the jobs in demand are simply not finding the needed skills in the current market?  This trend is likely to accelerate and many on the edge of the middle class are being pushed off into the working poor.  46,000,000 Americans are on food stamps even though we are years into a recovery.  Since many of these people have less disposable income and a larger portion of their money goes to food and energy, the massive inflation in these two segments of our economy are going to hit them much deeper.  If you look at banking profits thanks to generous bailouts by the Federal Reserve and subsequent depreciation of the dollar impacting the working poor, you should get a better sense which segment of our population is taking the brunt of this economic restructuring.
