However, we are adding roughly 300,000 people per month to the food stamp program called SNAP. If that is the case, as of today we now have 45,000,000 Americans participating in the food stamp program. We’ve noted trends in the economy where people line up at mid-night during certain key dates in the month at Wal-Mart locations waiting for their debit cards to refill so they can purchase food for their families.

Obama tells Americans: Do NOT prepare for radioactive fallout, just listen to your government

In a truly incredible example of the complete disregard for the health and safety of the American people, President Obama today told Americans that they should NOT prepare for radiation from the possible meltdown of the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan. His exact quote: “The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and public health experts do not recommend people in the U.S. take precautionary measures beyond staying informed.”
In other words, Americans should do nothing other than listen to their government. Don’t buy potassium iodide pills (even though the U.S. Surgeon General has already urged people to do so), don’t fuel up your automobiles in case you need to evacuate California, don’t store some extra food and water… basically, don’t worry! There’s no problem! Obama says so!
In all my years of looking at the bizarre and sometimes idiotic rants of the “do not prepare” crowd (the Pollyannas of the world), I never imagined hearing the President of the United States telling people to do nothing while the nation stands on the verge of being hit with radioactive fallout from an increasingly likely nuclear meltdown event. This isn’t just a lack of leadership, in my opinion: It’s a cowardly act and a betrayal of the health and safety of the American people.
While Obama focuses on March Madness basketball, Fukushima burns, threatening to release a massive amount of radiation directly into the atmosphere. The United States has already confirmed that low levels of radiation will reach California by Friday (http://www.naturalnews.com/031733_r…). The coolant fuels have run dry in at least one reactor (http://www.naturalnews.com/031734_n…), meaning that the release of enormous amounts of radiation from spent fuel rods is now imminent. Last-ditch rescue efforts are underway, and while we can hope and pray that they are effective, it seems absolutely bewildering that at this moment, Obama would be telling Americans to effectively “do nothing.”
Earlier today, I published a list of urgent action items for Americans and Canadians living on the western edge of North America (http://www.naturalnews.com/031731_r…). The same advice applies to those living in Hawaii, too: Get prepared now, just in case the Fukushima plant releases a massive amount of radiation into the air!
President Obama believes your action list should contain exactly one item: 1) Listen to your government and nothing else.
To me, that sounds like a recipe for suicide. But I suppose it’s up to each person to decide whom they want to believe. If the meltdown happens and the radiation cloud heads into California, many of those who listened to Obama could die of cancer from radiation exposure. What an incredible legacy for a President to leave in the history books.

Radiation Spurs Fears Around Japanese Food

The spiking radiation in Japan is spurring fears about food safety and prompting other countries to test Japanese imports, but any contamination would have the biggest impact on the Japanese, since most fruit, vegetable, meat and seafood are consumed domestically, say experts.
Regulators in India and Singapore have begun testing any Japanese-imported fresh produce for possible contamination. The European Commission also issued an alert to each of its member states Tuesday recommending additional surveillance on food products originating from Japan on or after March 15.
So far, there is no official evidence of any food contamination in Japan, according to Dave Byron, head of the food and environmental protection section in the joint division of the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization and its nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency. The joint division works directly with Japanese authorities and also has an office in the country.
The group assumes that Japanese authorities are monitoring the food supply and expects to see concrete testing data from Japan “in coming days,” said Mr. Byron. Japan has not requested FAO to provide technical assistance testing food products, but FAO would be able to assist the country’s authorities if asked, he said.

Decentralized protest group "Anonymous" has encountered many foes in the past: Sarah Palin, PayPal, the Church of Scientology, MasterCard, the Westboro Baptists and even the governments of Egypt, Tunisia and Libya, to name a few.
But now, one of the group's members has issued a call for perhaps their most audacious campaign yet: civil disobedience against the private central banking system that underpins all the world's industrial economies.
In a little-noticed video published Sunday, one "Anonymous" calls for the dawning of "Operation Empire State Rebellion": a "relentless campaign of peaceful resistance" against organizations that participate in they termed the "control" of large populations through pieces of paper and bits of data.
They also called for US Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke's resignation.
It reamains to be seen whether this operation will succeed in drawing the support of other members of "Anonymous." It was also unclear what exactly they had planned, or even if they could prove to be more than mere annoyance to the world's banking cartels.
But then again, ostensibly the same group did take down MasterCard for a day.
However, as with most "Anonymous" operations, it was impossible to say whether this proposal came from a known member of the group, someone on its fringes or a source outside of "Anonymous" entirely.

Suggesting that levels of radiation leaks from the stricken Fukushima plant are being grossly underreported by Japanese authorities, a Swedish government agency told Reuters today that not only will the radiation reach North America, but it will subsequently cover the entire northern hemisphere.
“Lars-Erik De Geer, research director at the Swedish Defense Research Institute, a government agency, was citing data from a network of international monitoring stations established to detect signs of any nuclear weapons tests,” reports Reuters.
“Stressing that the levels were not dangerous for people, he predicted the particles would continue across the Atlantic and eventually also reach Europe.”
De Geer said he was “convinced it would eventually be detected over the whole northern hemisphere,” according to the report, adding that radioactive particles would “eventually also come here,” referring to Europe.
De Geer’s prognosis arrives on the back of a study of data by the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty Organization, which confirmed that the radioactive plume from Fukushima would reach the Aleutian Islands on Thursday before hitting southern California late on Friday. The CBTO has a network of radiation monitors deployed globally that can detect radioactive particles such as caesium and iodine isotopes.

A former Transportation Security Administration employee is facing a federal embezzling charge for allegedly stealing money from a traveler's wallet at a passenger checkpoint at the Kona airport.
TSA officials arrested Dawn Nikole Keka on Friday. She was a lead transportation security officer at Kona Airport.
Keka resigned from her job Monday, said TSA spokesman Nico Melendez.
The TSA said it conducted a sting operation targeting Keka in response to numerous allegations that she was stealing cash from Japanese travelers passing through her screening lane.
According to a criminal complaint filed in federal court yesterday, a TSA special agent posing as a Japanese tourist went through Keka's lane with 13 marked $100 bills in her wallet. The agent placed the wallet in a Hello Kitty backpack.
After the backpack went through the X-ray machine, the TSA said, Keka searched it with her back to the agent, discarded a bottle of liquid from the backpack and asked the "tourist" whether she is Japanese. The undercover agent nodded yes.
Keka then put the backpack through the X-ray machine a second time. A special agent with the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Inspector General said he saw Keka walk to the middle of the screening area and lean against a wall near the X-ray machine.
When the undercover agent got the backpack, she discovered two $100 bills missing from the wallet.

In their latest comments on the subject, these gun control advocates are using similar arguments and similar language – including statements to the effect that they “strongly support the Second Amendment.”
On Tuesday, Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, both of New York, announced the introduction of a House bill that would penalize states that fail to submit records on criminals, drug abusers, domestic violence offenders and the "seriously mentally ill" to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).
The bill was announced two days after an op-ed by President Barack Obama appeared in a Tucson newspaper. In the op-ed on Sunday, Obama called for “common sense” ways to keep guns out of criminals’ hands. He singled out “porous background checks” as a problem. But first he assured Americans, “I believe that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to bear arms.”
On Monday, a White House spokesman said the Obama Justice Department was beginning a dialogue this week with “stakeholders” on both sides of the gun issue.
Meanwhile, the group Mayors Against Illegal Guns – led by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg -- is running a truck-mounted billboard across the country to spread the message that “guns kill.” The mayors’ group is urging Congress to “fix” the gun background check system.
In fact, the bill introduced by Rep. McCarthy is based on the mayors’ proposal, as is the bill that Schumer introduced earlier in the Senate.
Mayor Bloomberg joined Schumer and McCarthy and other lawmakers in Washington on Tuesday to generate publicity for the Democrats’ latest “commonsense” gun bill.

Japan's Nuclear Safety Agency has reported a third explosion within four days that has rocked the earth-quake damaged Fukushima Dai-chi nuclear plant in Northeast Japan early Tuesday.
Troubles at the Fukushima Nuclear complex began when Friday's Massive earthquake and Tsunami struck, knocking out power, and damaging cooling systems vital to keeping the nuclear fuel from going into meltdown stage.
Yochi Shimatsu, former editor of Japan Times has stated that the media has indeed been very slow to disclose the dangers of a possible meltdown, and radiation exposure that could envelope the globe including the United States.
Shimatsu further states that discrepancies in the number of citizens affected with radiation are further proof of attempts to downplay the severity of the crisis, and states that in the event of a full meltdown scenario, not only will neighboring countries along with Japan be in danger, but the jetstream may very easily carry the radiation to parts of the United States.
Rumors circulating on internet sites have stated that David Rockefeller has fled to Dehli India in order to escape the nuclear fallout coming from an anticipated meltdown, and has a nuclear fallout shelter prepared for himself and his family.
These rumors, I believe, stem from two news reports that have appeared recently. The first from the Times of Dehli:
In the Times of Dehli News on February 27th 2011, it has been reported that Trillion dollar Globalist David Rockefeller landed in Delhi with more than two dozen relatives, including his children and grandchildren. Apparently they are touring one of their enslaved countries and have chartered three planes in order to do so.
The second article is from an article titled :India starts building nuclear shelters published on Dec. 4, 2010. Whether this is the reason for Rockefeller's trip is up for speculation. The reasoning would then be based on the assumption that Rockefeller knew of the coming catastrophe because he somehow may have had a hand in creating the catastrophe using HAARP, or underwater nuclear missles to attack the tectonic plates underneath Japan's coast, thereby causing the catastrophe.
I choose to believe that it was sinply a natural and unfortunate occurance, that in turn, will be seized upon by Globalists such as David Rockefeller to further bring order out of chaos as they seek to implement their New World Order.

Sixty percent of Senate freshmen and more than 40 percent of freshmen in the House are millionaires, compared to 1 percent for Americans at large, according to a new report from the Center for Responsive Politics.
The median estimated wealth for Senate freshmen is $3.96 million, topped by Sen. Richard Blumenthal, a Connecticut Democrat, at $94.87 million. The median estimated wealth for House freshmen is $570,418.
“Even though millions of Americans continue to struggle financially, most of the nation’s newest congressional representatives are a world away from such constituents’ financial realities,” said Sheila Krumholz, executive director of the Center.
The figures are not precise because members of Congress are required to report their assets only in broad ranges. The Center, a nonpartisan research group, uses minimum and maximum asset values to arrive at an “estimated” figure.
Overall, freshman members of Congress have an estimated wealth of $533.1 million and a maximum net worth of $845.2 million.
Blumenthal, who married into a fortune, spent millions to defeat Republican Linda McMahon, herself a multimillionaire, in 2010’s most expensive congressional campaign.
After Blumenthal, the next seven wealthiest freshmen in Congress are all House members and all Republicans. They are: Diane Lynn Black of Tennessee ($49.4 million), Rick Berg of North Dakota ($39.2 million), Blake Farenthold of Texas ($35.8), Scott Rigell of Virginia ($29.9), James Renacci of Ohio ($28.4), Steve Pearce of New Mexico ($23.2), and Richard Hanna of New York ($22.1).

Sixty percent of Senate freshmen and more than 40 percent of freshmen in the House are millionaires, compared to 1 percent for Americans at large, according to a new report from the Center for Responsive Politics.
The median estimated wealth for Senate freshmen is $3.96 million, topped by Sen. Richard Blumenthal, a Connecticut Democrat, at $94.87 million. The median estimated wealth for House freshmen is $570,418.
“Even though millions of Americans continue to struggle financially, most of the nation’s newest congressional representatives are a world away from such constituents’ financial realities,” said Sheila Krumholz, executive director of the Center.
The figures are not precise because members of Congress are required to report their assets only in broad ranges. The Center, a nonpartisan research group, uses minimum and maximum asset values to arrive at an “estimated” figure.
Overall, freshman members of Congress have an estimated wealth of $533.1 million and a maximum net worth of $845.2 million.
Blumenthal, who married into a fortune, spent millions to defeat Republican Linda McMahon, herself a multimillionaire, in 2010’s most expensive congressional campaign.
After Blumenthal, the next seven wealthiest freshmen in Congress are all House members and all Republicans. They are: Diane Lynn Black of Tennessee ($49.4 million), Rick Berg of North Dakota ($39.2 million), Blake Farenthold of Texas ($35.8), Scott Rigell of Virginia ($29.9), James Renacci of Ohio ($28.4), Steve Pearce of New Mexico ($23.2), and Richard Hanna of New York ($22.1).

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama once promised that negotiations over his health care overhaul would be carried out openly, in front of TV cameras and microphones. Tell that to the White House now.
Republican congressional investigators got the brush-off this past week after pressing for details of meetings between White House officials and interest groups, including drug companies and hospitals that provided critical backing for Obama's health insurance expansion.
Complying with the records request from the House Energy and Commerce Committee "would constitute a vast and expensive undertaking" and could "implicate longstanding executive branch confidentiality interests," White House lawyer Robert Bauer wrote the committee. Translation: Nice try.
It's one more roadblock for Republicans who tapped into widespread anxiety about the scope and costs of the new health care law to regain control of the House in last fall's elections.
So far, they've been unable to repeal the landmark legislation they dismiss as "Obamacare." GOP efforts to deny administration agencies the money to carry out the law are running into unintended consequences, not to mention the sheer difficulty of tracking those dollars. Now it looks like oversight isn't going to be easy either.
"We are both concerned and disappointed by your response," the committee chairman, Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., wrote back to Bauer. "The American public deserves the information we have requested. The secret meetings conducted by (White House officials) are a perfect example of why transparency in government is so important."
Upton urged the White House to carefully reconsider, but it's uncertain he'll ever get what he wants. Even if the standoff dramatically escalates to a congressional subpoena, history shows that presidents usually succeed in keeping records away from snooping eyes.

Only days after HonestReporting’s Managing Editor wrote about the thread that links Palestinian incitement to inevitable acts of terror, Israel has suffered a shocking and brutal terrorist attack carried out by baby killers. Yet the BBC has still managed to turn this into a story about settlements.

A mother, father and three of their children were stabbed to death late Friday night by at least one suspected terrorist who infiltrated the Itamar settlement southeast of Nablus.Clearly, those who are capable of the premeditated murder of babies and children are driven by something far deeper than an aversion to the existence or building of Israeli settlements. There is nothing more innocent than a three-month old. Yet, many media outlets still chose to politicize the horrific slaughter of innocents by focusing less on the despicable act itself and more on making an issue of the location of the attack and dehumanizing the victims as “settlers”.
The killings occurred shortly after 10 p.m., when one or two attackers jumped the fence that surrounds Itamar and broke into the home of Ruth and Udi Fogel, aged 35 and 36, respectively. The attackers went room to room, stabbing the parents, a three-month-old girl, Hadas, and two boys, Elad, three, and Yoav, 11.
