Peter Schiff appeared on C-SPAN2 recently explaining the real reasons for the crisis in 2008, those in Government who helped to bring on the crisis, and the fact that no solutions to the next crisis have been provided by government. Money printing, low interest rates and bad policy have not only NOT solved the crisis, but indeed have spawned and driven it. He argues that there is coming a bigger crisis soon, and it will make the 2008 crisis look insignificant in comparison.
Here's an example of the pressure by the Federal Government to discourage citizens from questioning the origin and place of Obama's birth, or the legitimacy of his Birth Certificate.
Secret Service agents went to the home of a patriot called "Lonestar1776" on You Tube who has called for justice to be served once it is proven in a court of law that Obama is ineligible to be President of the United States.
It appears from the above video, that the reason for the visit by the Secret Service was initiated by statements made in a previous video by Lonestar1776, wherein he at one point stated
"Once he is convicted in a court of law ... ... we don't need to send him off to prison, and we don't need to send him out of the country. We need to behead him" -Lonestar1776

Mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York has recently come out with an absurd proposal to ban larger-sized sodas as part of an effort to reduce obesity among New York residents.
According to an article on Yahoo News, the proposal would " target fast-food and other restaurants, delis, and places of public entertainment like stadiums. It would not cover drinks sold in supermarkets, or any diet, fruit, dairy oralcoholic drinks."

Thousands of Israel supporters took to Fifth Avenue Sunday for the annual Celebrate Israel Parade, marking Israel’s 64th anniversary, including New York’s Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Senator Charles Schumer. NY1 reports:
Organizers call the parade the world’s largest public gathering to celebrate Israel, and many city and state officials took part.
“Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East. We have the right to practice our religion and say what we want to say because young men and women have always answered the call, and that’s true in Israel and true in America,” said Bloomberg.
“Israel faces probably the greatest threat she has ever faced, which is a nuclear Iran,” said Schumer. “And today we are urging all of the western powers, including our own government, not to budge on the sanctions until Iran fully gives up nuclear weapons.”
Last week, The Blaze reported on complaints that progressive groups, including the New Israel Fund (NIF), who have in the past supported or funded organizations promoting boycott Israel efforts had planned to march in the parade. This is just the latest chapter in the larger debate within the Jewish community over what constitutes support of Israel, and how far one can go in criticizing the policies of Israel’s democratically elected government and still be considered an Israel supporter.

Delegates to represent Louisiana at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, FL were chosen today, but not without issue. Ron Paul supporters took control of Louisiana's Republican State Convention Saturday, starting their own. It's a trend Paul supporters are doing around the nation, and it's leaving the Republican party divided.
"A majority of the folks at the convention elected him as chairman," Connie Barnard said, referring to Henry Herford. That 58% majority supports Ron Paul. They broke away from the Republican State Convention, turning their chairs away from the main podium and starting a convention of their own. Barnard, who is the vice chairman of the majority convention, says this separation was caused by convention rule changes.
"When those rule changes were released to several of the delegates on Friday, they were not in keeping of ideas of liberty and democracy," she said. Ron Paul supporters claim the new delegation rules make selecting delegates for the national convention in Tampa unfair.
"For example, one of the rule changes were that 1/3 of the delegation would constitute a quorum," Barnard said. "Nowhere does any public body or any seated body does 1/3 constitute a quorum."
