An administrative law judge in Georgia could decide as early as this week whether voters in the state convinced him Barack Obama’s name should be removed from the 2012 presidential ballot because he is not qualified to hold the office.
But win, lose or draw, the fight isn’t going to be over, as other cases are erupting across the nation, with challenges being raised anew even in Obama’s own adopted political network in Illinois.
The Georgia hearing was before Judge Michael Malihi, and while none of the lawyers who appeared in the proceedings was willing to predict what the decision will be, several did confirm that Malihi had considered simply granting them a default victory, because Obama and his lawyers expressly stated they would not participate in a hearing to provide evidence that he is qualified to be on the ballot.
A default presumably would have meant a recommendation from the judge that Obama’s name be stricken from the ballot, a decision which would head for review immediately by Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp.
He, however, was the one who warned Obama of the “peril” of not participating in the hearing when Obama and his attorney had asked that the event be canceled.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The second of five Arkansas law enforcement officers accused of accepting bribes and looking the other way while drug traffickers shipped marijuana, cocaine and other illegal drugs throughout the region pleaded guilty to extortion and money laundering Thursday.
Federal prosecutors in Little Rock agreed to drop the remaining charges against former Marvell Police Officer Robert Wahls in exchange for his guilty plea.
Prosecutors also agreed to recommend a two-year prison sentence for Wahls. A judge will decide whether to heed that recommendation during formal sentencing May 30.
Wahls is one of five law enforcement officers — out of 71 people — indicted in an investigation dubbed Operation Delta Blues. The probe, announced in October, focused on corruption and drug trafficking in the Mississippi Delta town of Helena-West Helena.
Wahls' plea comes a week after Helena-West Helena Police Officer Robert "Bam Bam" Rogers pleaded guilty to an extortion charge. Prosecutors recommended a 16-month prison sentence for Rogers.
As part of Wahls' plea agreement, federal prosecutors said he had to admit that he took money for escorting someone posing as a drug trafficker.
Wahls' attorney, Eric Relf Gribble, didn't respond to a request for comment Thursday.

Some Americans Would Miss Child's Birth To Watch Super Bowl

How important is the Super Bowl to some Americans? Well, according to a recent survey, some fans of the sport would be willing to miss the birth of their own child to see the event!
The survey, sponsored by CouponCabin.com, revealed the following:
- 15% of U.S. adults (men) would rather watch the Super Bowl than to experience the miracle of watching their child being born.
- 21% said they would shirk important work responsibilities in order to see the game.
- 20% admitted they would miss the wedding of a close friend.
- 19% said they would even miss attending the funeral of a loved one to cheer on the sport of football!
The survey was conducted with 2,625 U.S. adults and 37% of those agreed that the Super Bowl was the most important major sporting event. Among some of the reasons for attending the Super Bowl event were:
- Love for the NFL (47%)
- watching the game primarily for the commercials (37%)
- the fun of attending a Super Bowl party (33%)
As if that is not disturbing enough, most of these same football fanatics are the ones who have no problem smashing out windows and attacking innocent bystanders when their favorite team loses, and yet say nothing of the corruption taking place in the White House or at the Local Federal Reserve Bank!
These same drooling fanatics are probably ignorant of the fact that about 50% of fruits from their labor is stolen from them by federal, state, and local taxes each year!

I reckon it is safe to say that these same people will usually refuse to discuss politics, however, because it is a "touchy subject", but will turn around and bash a fellow spectator who may cheer for the opposing team!
While there is certainly a large number of Americans attending the events in person, a great majority watch these sporting events through their televisions.

In general, the U.S. came at a tie with the UK in the amount of time the average person watches television in a week. Both in the UK, and the United States, a person sits in front of the Boob-tube on an average of 28 hours per week.
If the average Joe on the street would skip out on the birth of his own child to see grown men running around on a field throwing a ball around while slapping each other's backsides- is it any wonder they tolerate spy street cameras, Vipr Teams on the streets, Drones surveilling our cities, oppressive legislation, and corrupt Representatives in the White House, along with the Syndicate Banksters and Wall Street hoodlums? If he will choose football over watching his child being born, do you think he will give a second thought to the fact that this same child will grow up in a Police State controlled by International Bankers? I doubt it.
Sadly, while "Rome burns", we are more concerned with the gladiator games...
I will leave you with this sobering statement from a 1976 film called "The Network", which sums it up best:

Europe signs up to German-led fiscal pact

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Chancellor Angela Merkel cemented her political ascendancy in Europe Monday when 25 out of 27 EU states agreed to a German-inspired pact for stricter budget discipline, even as they struggled to rekindle growth from the ashes of austerity.
Only Britain and the Czech Republic refused to sign a fiscal compact in March that will impose quasi-automatic sanctions on countries that breach European Union budget deficit limits and will enshrine balanced budget rules in national law.
The accord was eagerly greeted by the European Central Bankwhich has long pressed euro zone governments to put their houses in order.
"It is the first step toward a fiscal union. It certainly will strengthen confidence in the euro area," ECB President Mario Draghi said.
Officially, the half-day summit focused on a strategy to revive growth and create jobs at a time when governments across Europe are having to cut public spending and raise taxes to tackle mountains of debt.
