Just one of Moammar Gadhafi’s eight children is still unaccounted for following the Libyan dictator’s death last week, and although he is currently wanted by the International Criminal Court, Libya’s former heir apparent is still trying to reclaim his father’s glory.
Saif Al-Islam Gadhafi, the London-educated son who was to succeed his father and carry on the dynasty is possibly still at large. Libya’s interim government had said he was captured this weekend, but at the very same time the 39-year-old appeared on Syrian television.
“We continue our resistance. I’m in Libya, alive, free and intend to go to the very end and exact revenge,” Saif Al-Islam Gadhafi was heard saying on Syrian TV. “I say go to hell, you rats and NATO behind you. This is our country, we live in it, and we die in it and we are continuing the struggle.”
The short message was broadcast on Syrian TV station Al-Rai on Sunday and was soon uploaded by several users onto YouTube. It’s not clear if the audio-only message was broadcast live or was a recording. The Al-Rai station broadcasts into Libya, and in the past has broadcast messages from Moammar Gadhafi.
As the hunt for Saif intensifies, his brother Saadi Gadhafi, who escaped the country in September as rebel forces began to close in, has publicly lashed out about the death of his father and brother.

Study Shows Banks and Transnational Corporations Run the World

As protests against financial power sweep the world this week, science may have confirmed the protesters’ worst fears. An analysis of the relationships between 43,000 transnational corporations has identified a relatively small group of companies, mainly banks, with disproportionate power over the global economy.
The study’s assumptions have attracted some criticism, but complex systems analysts contacted by New Scientist say it is a unique effort to untangle control in the global economy. Pushing the analysis further, they say, could help to identify ways of making global capitalism more stable.
The idea that a few bankers control a large chunk of the global economy might not seem like news to New York’s Occupy Wall Street movement and protesters elsewhere (see photo). But the study, by a trio of complex systems theorists at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, is the first to go beyond ideology to empirically identify such a network of power. It combines the mathematics long used to model natural systems with comprehensive corporate data to map ownership among the world’s transnational corporations (TNCs).

Vatican Calls for “Central World Bank”

The Vatican has called for a “global public authority” and a world central bank to rule over financial affairs in the wake of the engineered economic collapse.
A document released by the Vatican’s Justice and Peace department “should be music to the ears of the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ demonstrators and similar movements around the world who have protested against the economic downturn,” according toCNBC.
Condemning the “idolatry of the market,” the document states that the “economic and financial crisis which the world is going through calls everyone, individuals and peoples, to examine in depth the principles and the cultural and moral values at the basis of social coexistence.”
The planned implosion of the global economy “has revealed behaviors like selfishness, collective greed and hoarding of goods on a great scale.”
The 18-page document, entitled “Towards Reforming the International Financial and Monetary Systems in the Context of a Global Public Authority,” declares global economics needs an “ethic of solidarity” among rich and poor nations.
“If no solutions are found to the various forms of injustice, the negative effects that will follow on the social, political and economic level will be destined to create a climate of growing hostility and even violence, and ultimately undermine the very foundations of democratic institutions, even the ones considered most solid,” it said.
In response, the Vatican is calling for “a supranational authority” with worldwide scope and “universal jurisdiction” to guide economic policies and decisions. The authority will be run by the United Nations, according to the document.
It will take time to replace economic policies and in the process destroy national sovereignty, according to the Vatican.
“Of course, this transformation will be made at the cost of a gradual, balanced transfer of a part of each nation’s powers to a world authority and to regional authorities, but this is necessary at a time when the dynamism of human society and the economy and the progress of technology are transcending borders, which are in fact already very eroded in a globalizes world.”

U.S. Amassador to Syria with Possible Links to CIA Calls Upon Protesters in Syria to End 41 Year Rule of President Assad

Today in Reuters it is reported that the U.S. Ambassador to Syria has had to make a hasty retreat back to the United States after several articles in the Syrian media have incited hostility to the U.S. Ambassador.

Robert Ford, was assigned as Ambassador to Syria in 2010 by Barack Obama. Recently it is reported that Ford contacted a seven month old grassroots protest movement, and called upon them to end 41 years of Assad family Rule.

Ford also served as Ambassador to Algeria from 2006 to 2008 under the Bush administration, and during that time Ford was accused of being a CIA agent by Mohamed Tamalt, an Algerian author and journalist who knew Ford when he served in Algeria.

The U.S. has been trying to convince Bashar Al- Assad to scale down friendly ties to Iran and militant groups, and had made some moves to improve relations with Damascus when Obama took office in the beginning of his term.

When protesting broke out in Syria, Assad ignored the demands of the protesters. International calls for Assad to respond to the demands of the protesters went unheeded by Assad as well, and relations between Syria and the U.S. began then to deteriorate.

There has been in the past, instances of U.S. attacks inside of Syrian territory by Special Forces against fighters staging attacks in Iraq.

Now it looks as though Ford, a possible CIA agent, is further instigating calls for the end of Assad's rule.
The question is whether this is being done at the behest of higher ups in the Agency itself, and will this lead to the next 'kinetic action' by the U.S. and NATO to spread 'democracy' along with regime change in the region as well.

U.S. pulls out ambassador from Syria: diplomats

AMMAN | Mon Oct 24, 2011 8:16am EDT
(Reuters) - The United States has pulled its ambassador out of Syria over security concerns after his cultivation of contacts with protesters led to attacks on his embassy and residence by backers of President Bashar al-Assad, diplomats said on Monday.
Robert Ford left Syria over the weekend, the Western diplomats told Reuters, following a series of incidents that resulted in physical damage but no casualties.
"Articles, more inciting against Ford than usual, have appeared in state media recently. He left on Saturday," said one of the diplomats, who like others asked not to be identified due to the sensitivity of the issue.
U.S. embassy officials were not immediately available for comment.
Ford, a veteran diplomat, infuriated Syria's rulers by getting in touch with a seven-month-old grassroots protest movement demanding an end to 41 years of Assad family rule.
