Netanyahu Says Never to a State for Palestinians

The New York Times
March 16, 2015

JERUSALEM — Under pressure on the eve of a surprisingly close election, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel on Monday doubled down on his appeal to right-wing voters, declaring definitively that if he was returned to office he would never establish a Palestinian state.
The statement reversed Mr. Netanyahu’s endorsement of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in a 2009 speech at Bar Ilan University, and fulfilled many world leaders’ suspicions that he was never really serious about peace negotiations. If he manages to eke out a fourth term, the new stance would further fray Mr. Netanyahu’s ruinous relationship with the Obama administration and heighten tension with European countries already frustrated with the stalled peace process.

Rivlin: Dividing Jerusalem will perpetuate the Jewish-Arab conflict

Jerusalem Post
March 18, 2014

Presidential candidate says government has neglected east Jerusalem; calls on Israel to extend full sovereignty over Arab residents.

Likud MK Reuven Rivlin, a leading candidate to replace President Shimon Peres when his term ends this summer, spoke out against dividing Jerusalem on Tuesday.
Speaking at a conference on the challenges that a peace agreement would pose to Jerusalem at Netanya Academic College, Rivlin said that dividing Jerusalem would exacerbate the Israeli-Palestinian conflict rather than solve it.
“The division of Jerusalem is the perpetuation of the Jewish- Arab conflict [from] pre- 1948 Jerusalem,” he said. “Jerusalem is very mixed. The Arab public was allowed to spread to the west, and this decision was made with clear knowledge that Jerusalem would not be divided – even Ben-Gurion and Moshe Dayan were against the division of Jerusalem.”
Rivlin said that the government had neglected east Jerusalem, and called on Israel to extend full sovereignty to eastern Jerusalem’s Arab neighborhoods.
“The government of Israel is responsible for the difficult situation in east Jerusalem, and in order to create a united Jerusalem, which is the desire of the majority of the Israeli public, we need real sovereignty,” Rivlin said. “In our leadership today it is very difficult to implement decisions, and therefore [our leaders] continue to maintain the status quo.”
Rivlin addressed his chances in the presidential race, and said that despite their ideological differences, he expected to receive votes from some Arab MKs.

Netanyahu, Obama Discuss Israel-Palestine Peace Agreement

The New American
March 5, 2014

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with President Obama at the White House on March 3 and the main topic on the agenda was the U.S.-drafted framework for a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.
Just prior to the meeting, the two leaders made statements that are posted on the White House website.
Obama stated, in part:
It's a pleasure to welcome once again Prime Minister Netanyahu to the Oval Office. There’s nobody I’ve met with more or consulted with more than Bibi. And it's a testimony to the incredible bond between our two nations. I’ve said before and I will repeat, we do not have a closer friend or ally than Israel and the bond between our two countries and our two peoples in unbreakable.
And Netanyahu replied, in part:
Mr. President, you rightly said that Israel, the Jewish state, is the realization of the Jewish people’s self-determination in our ancestral homeland. So the Palestinians expect us to recognize a Palestinian state for the Palestinian people, a nation state for the Palestinian people. I think it’s about time they recognize a nation state for the Jewish people. We’ve only been there for 4,000 years.
Reports from Reuters News, USA Today, Fox News, and AP soon after the meeting noted that the president had assured Netanyahu that the United States remains committed to preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Obama also asked Israel and the Palestinians to compromise to reach a U.S.-brokered peace framework, stating: “It is still possible to create two states, a Jewish state of Israel and a state of Palestine, with people living side by side in peace and security. But it's difficult. It requires compromise on all sides.”
Addressing Netanyahu’s concerns that the United States might soften it position on Iran’s nuclear fuel enrichments program, Obama pledged “my absolute commitment that Iran does not acquire a nuclear weapon.”
Upon arriving in Washington on Sunday, Netanyahu told reporters that he was committed to negotiations for a peace settlement, but he wanted to see proof that the Palestinians were committed as well.

The Nations cry for "Peace and Security"

Now that Ariel Sharon has passed away, the leaders in the Middle East and here in the U.S. are calling for peace and security in the Middle East, and asking Netanyahu to make the move toward peace by removing Israelis from settlements that are rightfully theirs to begin with, and calling for a two state solution.

President Obama made this following statement:

“We continue to strive for lasting peace and security for the people of Israel, including through our commitment to the goal of two states living side-by-side in peace and security.”
Where have we heard these words before?

1 Thessalonians 5:3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
In the context of this scripture the Apostle Sha'ul (Paul) was explaining that there will be false promises and declarations of peace and safety in the last days preceeding  the "Yom YHWH"  or "Day of the Lord".

We see the Arab nations rejoicing over the death of Ariel Sharon, and also pressuring Israel to compromise for the sake of peace.

Leaders in the UK and Germany seem to be pushing for the Two State Solution as well, which will only set Israel up to be totally vulnerable to the Arab nations surrounding them.

UK Prime Minister David Cameron’s message to Israel’s current prime minister was yet more blunt, as he praised Sharon as a leader who “took brave and controversial decisions in pursuit of peace.” German Chancellor Angela Merkel, through a spokesman, applauded Sharon’s “courageous decision” to withdraw settlers from the Gaza Strip, during the Disengagement, a “historic step on the path to a deal with the Palestinians and a two-state solution.”-Times of Israel
Even the Pope's upcoming trip to Israel is being called the "Cry for Peace" visit.

This call for "Peace" however, is deceitful among these leaders. They are preparing for the destruction of Israel.

Psalm 35:20For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land.
Isaiah 59:8The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.
 Jeremiah 6:14They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
Remember the prophecy of Daniel concerning the "Man of Sin" or the "Anti-christ" :
Daniel 8:25And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
Pray for the Peace of Yerushalayim my friends.

Pope to visit Middle East in May, meet Orthodox head

Matheny's Note: This is the Ecumenical gathering that the Papacy is hoping for. The Holy Roman Church is repairing her wounds and gaining the confidence of all the denominations which once broke away from her Idolatry..... and calling for "Peace" in the region.....

For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

Ezekiel 7:25
Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.

Ezekiel 13:10
Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter:

Ezekiel 13:16
To wit, the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions ofpeace for her, and there is no peace, saith YAHWEH Elohim.

Micah 3:5
Thus saith YAHWEH concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.

(Reuters) - Pope Francis is to visit biblical sites in Jordan, Israel and the Palestinian Territories in May, his first trip to the Christian Holy Land as pontiff and only the fourth by a pope since biblical times.
The May 24-26 trip to Amman, Jerusalem and Bethlehem will mark the 50th anniversary of a historic trip to the region by Pope Paul VI. Pope John Paul II visited in 2000 and Benedict XVI went in 2009.
Apart from its significance for Roman Catholic relations with Jews and Muslims, Francis' trip will hold major importance for relations among Christians because it will include a meeting in Jerusalem with the spiritual head of the world's Orthodox Christians, as well as Anglican and Protestant leaders.
Francis, who has made many appeals for peace in the Middle East since his election in March, announced the trip to thousands of people gathered in St. Peter's Square for his Sunday address. He had been invited to visit by both Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli President Shimon Peres.
Many key biblical sites are in Israel's Galilee region but Bethlehem, revered as the birthplace of Jesus, is in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, in the Palestinian Territories.
The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, built over the spot where Jesus is said to have been buried, is in Arab East Jerusalem, which Palestinians want as the capital of their future state.
INTER-FAITH MEETINGS
Israeli and Palestinian negotiators resumed direct peace negotiations in late July after three years of stalemate. The Vatican has urged both sides to make "courageous and determined" decisions to move closer to peace, with the help of the international community.
Francis, who defined his trip as a "pilgrimage of prayer", said he would hold an inter-faith meeting in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre together with Bartholomew I, the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople.
Bartholomew is the spiritual leader of the some 300 million Orthodox Christians worldwide.
Francis made the announcement on the exact 50th anniversary of Pope Paul VI's meeting in Jerusalem with Bartholomew's predecessor, Athenagoras, the first meeting of the leaders of the Western and Eastern Christianity since they were divided by the Great Schism of 1054.
The meeting between Bartholomew and Francis could also pave the way for an historic encounter between Francis and Kirill, the patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, the largest and most influential in world Orthodoxy.
There have been signs of a general warming between the western and eastern branches of Christianity, and Francis fuelled hopes of further reconciliation in November when he met Russian President Vladimir Putin, the first Kremlin leader to publicly profess religious faith since the 1917 revolution.
Representatives of Anglican and Protestant churches, which split from Rome in the 16th century, are also expected to attend the Jerusalem meeting in May.
The Vatican did not release any more details of the trip.

Israel PM heads to Rome for first talks with pope

December 1, 2013

Jerusalem (AFP) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu left for Rome on Sunday for a two-day official visit during which he will meet Pope Francis for the first time.

During the visit, Netanyahu is also due to meet his Italian counterpart Enrico Letta, and will hold a joint session with the Italian cabinet, it said.The Israeli leader took off around midday accompanied by six of his ministers, including his newly reappointed Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, public radio said.
On Monday, he will be granted his first audience with Pope Francis, who took over as the worldwide head of the Catholic Church in March.
Six weeks ago, Netanyahu's office had said he would meet the pope during a visit to Rome in late October, but the meeting never happened -- with a diplomatic source telling AFP it would not happen because it had not been coordinated in advance with the Vatican.
When the two meet on Monday, they are likely to discuss the Iranian nuclear issue and the ongoing peace talks with the Palestinians.
And they are also expected to discuss the pope's planned visit to the Holy Land early next year.
Pope Francis has already been invited to visit the Christian holy sites by Israeli President Shimon Peres in April, and by Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas, who met him on October 17.
Israeli sources say the visit could take place before Peres ends his term as president in July. Although no date has been made official, sources on both sides say it is likely to take place on May 25-26.
The papal visit will reportedly begin in Jordan, a senior Vatican official said on Saturday, according to Jordanian state news agency Petra.
"The pope's visit to the Holy Land will begin in Jordan," Vatican foreign affairs official Dominique Mamberti said in Amman after meeting Jordan's Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh.
Israel and the Vatican first established full diplomatic relations in 1993, but have been engaged in years of thorny diplomatic negotiations over property rights and tax exemptions for the Catholic Church, which have yet to be fully resolved.
The Holy See wants full recognition of the legal and patrimonial rights of Catholic communities in Israel and formal confirmation of tax exemptions enjoyed by the Church since the Jewish state's emergence in 1948 and which the UN has asked Israel to honour.
One of the most delicate questions involves access by Catholic worshippers to a site on Mount Zion in Jerusalem called the Cenacle, where Christians believe Jesus held the Last Supper the night before he was crucified.
In June, the sides agreed to step up negotiations over the outstanding issues.

Kerry meets Iran foreign minister to close gaps in nuclear talks/Israel Furious at U.S.

Yahoo News
November 8, 2013

GENEVA (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said on Friday important gaps needed to be bridged in high-stakes talks with Iran on curbing its nuclear program and he began talks with Tehran's foreign minister to try to clinch an interim deal.
"I want to emphasize there is not an agreement at this point," Kerry said shortly after arriving in Geneva, tempering expectations of an imminent breakthrough that could reduce the risk of a Middle East war over Iran's nuclear aspirations.
"We hope to try to narrow these differences but I don't think anybody should mistake there are some important gaps that have to be closed," he told reporters.
Iran spelled out a major difference soon afterwards, with a member of its negotiating team, Majid Takt-Ravanchi, telling Mehr news agency that oil and banking sanctions imposed on Tehran should be eased during the first phase of any deal.
The powers have offered Iran access to up to $50 billion in Iranian funds frozen abroad for many years but ruled out any broad dilution of sanctions in the early going of an agreement.
Midway through the second round of negotiations since Iran elected a moderate president who opened doors to a peaceful solution to the nuclear dispute, Kerry joined fellow big power foreign ministers in Geneva to help cement a preliminary accord, with Israel warning they were making an epic mistake.
Diplomats said a breakthrough remained uncertain and would in any case mark only the first step in a long, complex process towards a permanent resolution of international concerns that Iran may be seeking the means to build nuclear bombs.
But they said the arrival of Kerry, British Foreign Secretary William Hague and French and German foreign ministers Laurent Fabius and Guido Westerwelle signaled that the five permanent U.N. Security Council members and Germany may be closer to an elusive pact with Iran than ever before.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will join the talks on Saturday, diplomats said, signaling the November 7-8 timetable for the talks will be extended into a third day.
Lavrov's deputy was quoted by state-run RIA news agency as saying the sides were loath to leave Geneva "without a positive result (since to do so) would be a serious strategic mistake".

Obama urges Palestinians to return to peace talks

Jeremiah 6:14They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace;when there is no peace.
 1 Thessalonians 5:3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
 Daniel 8:25And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many:

President Barack Obama voiced opposition on Thursday to Israeli settlement building but pressed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to drop his demand for a freeze before Middle East peace talks can resume.
After an effusive welcome in Israel, Obama travelled to the Israeli-occupied West Bank, where disillusioned Palestinians held out little hope that their moment in the spotlight of a U.S. presidential visit would help revive the peace process.

At a joint news conference with Abbas, Obama said he had "been clear" with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Washington did not consider continued settlement activity to be constructive to "the cause of peace".

Analysis: Post-US election peace push unlikely

Jerusalem Post

As domestic issues weight in, the Middle East peace process is not going to be a top priority for the president-elect.

MANCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE – On Barack Obama’s second day as president of the United States, he appointed George Mitchell as a special US envoy to the Middle East.

Four years later, regardless of the winner of Tuesday’s vote, there is almost no chance that the peace process will receive the same primacy at the start of the next term. Partly that’s because of the grinding stalemate between the parties, but a much larger factor is the grinding distress of the US economy.

America’s economic trouble was not only the dominant issue of the 2012 election, it pushed foreign policy out of the race almost entirely.

Mitt Romney tried to make political hay of Obama’s tense relationship with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and the looming possibility that Iran would acquire nuclear weapons. But the only international issue that really intruded on the campaign in its final, and most impactful weeks, was the terror attack that killed four US diplomats, including a US ambassador, in Libya on the 11th anniversary of September 11.

Even the incident in Libya, though, didn’t open up a debate about America’s approach to the Middle East or combating terrorism, but rather served as a spring board for recriminations and charges of manipulations, misquotes, poor judgment and ultimately a cover-up.

According to a CNS News Report on August 22, 2011:President Barack Obama said Monday Muammar Gaddafi’s rule in Libya is “over,” but added that the dictator of four decades could prevent further bloodshed in the country by formally calling on regime proponents to stop the violence.

In the broadcast above you will hear President Obama call for "peace" in the region - that is only after carrying out a UN Resolution to go in and topple Gaddafi from rule in Libya, all with the help of "revolutionary forces wanting "freedom and democracy" (better known as Al qeada aka Al CIA -Duh!)
It reminded my of a few choice scriptures in the Bible I thought I would share:

For your hands are defiled with blood
and your fingers with iniquity;
your lips have spoken lies;
your tongue mutters wickedness.
4 eNo one enters suit justly;
no one goes to law honestly;
they rely on empty pleas, they speak lies,
fthey conceive mischief and give birth to iniquity.
5 They hatch adders' eggs;
they weave the spider's web;
he who eats their eggs dies,
and from one that is crushed a viper is hatched.
6 gTheir webs will not serve as clothing;
men will not cover themselves with what they make.
Their works are works of iniquity,
and deeds of violence are in their hands.
7 hTheir feet run to evil,
and they are swift to shed innocent blood;
their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity;
desolation and destruction are in their highways.
8 The way of peace they do not know,
and there is no justice in their paths;
they have made their roads crooked;
ino one who treads on them knows peace.
-Isaiah 59:3-8

“For from the least to the greatest of them,
everyone ais greedy for unjust gain;
and from bprophet to priest,
everyone deals falsely.
14 They have healed the wound of my people lightly,
saying, c‘Peace, peace,’
dwhen there is no peace.
15 eWere they ashamed when they committed abomination?
No, they were not at all ashamed;
they did not know how to blush.
Therefore they shall fall among those who fall;
fat the time that I punish them, they shall be overthrown,”
says Yahweh.
-Jeremiah 6: 13-15

wWe looked for peace, but no good came;
for a time of healing, but behold, terror.
-Jeremiah 8:15

10 Precisely because they have misled my people, ksaying, ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace, and because, when the people build a wall, lthese prophets smear it with whitewash,1
-Ezekiel 13:10

25 rBy his cunning he shall make deceit prosper under his hand, and in his own mind she shall become great. and by peace he shall destroy many. And he sshall even rise up against the Prince of princes, and he shall be broken—but uby no human hand.
-Daniel 8:25

Enough said.
