Mexican Marines Executed Three U.S. Citizens

MSN
January 21, 2018

Three U.S. siblings found dead in Mexico in 2014 were executed by Mexican marines and a border mayor's paramilitary security team, the country's National Human Rights Commission said Thursday.
Erica Alvarado Salinas, 26, Alex Alvarado, 22, and Jose Angel Alvarado, 21, all American citizens, disappeared in 2014 while visiting their father in El Control, a small town near Matamoros, a Mexican city in the dangerous state of Tamaulipas, across the border from Brownsville, Texas.
Their bodies were found sixteen days later in a field east of Matamoros. They each had been shot in the head, and the bodies were badly decomposed. Jose Guadalupe Castaneda Benitez, 32, a friend from Mexico traveling with the siblings, was also killed.
According to the commission's report, witnesses said the four victims were forced into a vehicle belonging to the security detail of then-Matamoros Mayor Leticia Salazar Vázquez. Human rights investigators were also able to interview several men who reported being arrested the same day the American siblings disappeared. Many of them said they saw the group taken to an empty lot to be beaten and interrogated by the marines.
The commission determined that detention was illegal, as there was no order that would have explained their arrest. So far, state and federal authorities have denied involvement in the death of the victims. In a press release, the commission added that officials, marines, and state and federal police lied in statements to cover up the killings.
Of the arrests made by public servants of the Navy and Hercules Group on Oct. 13, 2014, no record exists, nor were they presented to any authority. There is not even an investigation involving (the victims), much less arrest orders or a complaint against them.
The commission delivered its findings to the Naval Secretariat, the governor of Tamaulipas, the mayor of Matamoros and Mexico’s National Security Commission. The murder case is still open. The government of Tamaulipas said they implemented human rights training for police in Mexico based on the report. They say the case is in the hands of federal prosecutors.
Tamaulipas has faced severe security concerns since the outset of Mexico's war against drug cartels in 2012. Recently, the U.S. State Department issued a “do not travel” advisory this month for Tamaulipas and four other Mexican states, "putting the regions on the same level as war-zones such as Syria, Yemen, and Afghanistan," as reported by The Guardian.
As highlighted by the San Antonio Express-News, a United Nations envoy reported in 2016 that “extrajudicial killings and excessive use of force by security officers persist” in Mexico.
“Protective measures remain insufficient and ineffective; impunity and the lack of accountability for violations of the right to life remain a serious challenge, as does the absence of reparations for the victims,” the U.N. report said.

Pennsylvania man targets police officers in string of shootings; one injured, suspect killed

Ahmed Aminamin El-Mofty, 51, allegedly shot at police officers in Harrisburg, Pa., three times before being killed on Dec. 22, 2017.

Federal authorities are investigating after a Pennsylvania man with ties to the Middle East opened fire on police officers in three different locations in the state's capital on Friday afternoon. Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico said it remains under investigation whether the shootings were acts of terror.
One officer was injured in the spate of shootings, but her injuries are considered non-life-threatening, police said.
Police identified the alleged shooter as Ahmed Aminamin El-Mofty, 51, and Marsico said he recently returned from a trip to the Middle East.
The FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are involved in the investigation.
The first shooting took place at about 4:10 p.m. when El-Mofty allegedly opened fire on a Capitol Police officer in his cruiser, striking the vehicle several times, but missing the officer. The shooting took place just steps from the Pennsylvania state Capitol Building. About a half hour later, the same man is suspected to have opened fire on a female officer who was struck once, but is in good condition at a local hospital, according to Marsico.
Capital Police pursued the suspect to a residential area, who then allegedly opened fire on them with two handguns, Marsico said. The officers fired back, striking and killing the suspect. None of the officers were struck.
Marsico said there was "no doubt" the man was targeting police officers.

REPORT: FBI WIPES PHONES & LAPTOPS OF LAS VEGAS MASSACRE EYEWITNESSES

Workers at the Route 91 festival during which Stephen Paddock unleashed his massacre have reportedly been given back their phones and laptops by the FBI only to discover that all messages and videos from the night of the attack have been wiped clean.
According to a Las Vegas resident who posted a status update on Facebook, “A bunch of people that worked the Route 91 said they got their cell phones back today. They all said that all their phones are completely wiped clean! All messages and info from that weekend are completely gone. Anyone else experience this?”
“A few different people who were vendors there are all saying the same thing,” the woman later comments.
Later in the thread, a Route 91 worker confirms the story, commenting, “Of course. It’s an active federal crime scene. They can wipe it clean. I was the beverage manager for the entire event. My laptop is wiped clean.”
Infowars was separately contacted by another individual who told us the same story. Both individuals asked that their names not be revealed.
The fact that all the information relating to the massacre has been deleted is sure to prompt further claims of a cover-up.
While some assert that the feds wiping data is a routine part of their investigation procedure, if authorities want to stop the many conspiracy theories circulating about the attack, they’re not doing a very good job of it.
As Ann Coulter notes, the media’s treatment of the story and the constantly changing official narrative is only serving to make people more suspicious.
“I don’t know what happened — and, apparently, neither do the cops — but it’s kind of odd that we keep being told things that aren’t true about the Las Vegas massacre, from the basic timeline to this weird insistence that Paddock made a good living at gambling,” writes Coulter.
She points to many questions that remain unanswered about the attack, including why Paddock checked in to the hotel days earlier than authorities first said he did, why he was wearing gloves if he planned to commit suicide and why Paddock chose to “unload 200 rounds into the hallway at a security guard who was checking on someone else’s room before beginning his massacre.”

Las Vegas gunman targeted aviation fuel tanks during shooting spree, report says

Fox News

Stephen Paddock, the gunman who killed 58 people and injured more than 500 during Sunday’s massacre on the Las Vegas Strip, reportedly also took aim at nearby aviation fuel tanks during the rampage.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal, citing an unnamed source, reported late Wednesday that two holes were found in one of the two jet fuel tanks near the site of the Route 91 Harvest concert. One of the bullets penetrated a tank, but did not cause an explosion, the report said.
The report said FBI agents inspected the tanks and considered the bullet’s trajectory from where Paddock opened fire on 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
FoxNews.com could not immediately confirm the report. The paper reported that both the company that operates the tanks and the FBI did not comment for its report.
Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said it's difficult to believe Paddock acted alone in the attack on the audience of an outdoor concert.
Lombardo said that items confiscated from Paddock included 1,600 rounds of ammunition and several containers of an explosive commonly used in target shooting that totaled 50 pounds. But it wasn't clear what, if anything, Paddock planned to do with the explosives, the sheriff said.
On Sept. 28, the 64-year-old high-stakes gambler and real estate investor checked into Mandalay Bay and specifically requested an upper-floor room with a view of the Route 91 Harvest music festival, according to a person who has seen hotel records turned over to investigators.
Paddock wasn't able to move into the room until Saturday, said the source, who was not authorized to speak publicly and disclosed the information on condition of anonymity.
Mike Boyd, an aviation consultant, in the meantime, told the Review-Journal that “a machine gun is not going to blow up a tank of fuel.”
“Jet fuel itself sitting there in a big wet pile is very hard to ignite. You have to be a very amateur terrorist to think anything like that.”

OSU Attacker Complained That As A Muslim "I'm Not What The Media Portrays Me To Be", Slammed US "Interference"

As reported earlier, the man behind today's gruesome attack at Ohio State University, in which he plowed a car into a crowd of people on campus and subsequently attacked bystanders with a butcher’s knife, and which some suggested was inspired by recent ISIS propaganda, was identified as 19 year old naturalized Somali Refugee Abdul Razak Ali Artan.

OSU cameras caught Artan driving his car onto university property prior the attack; they confirm that he was in the car alone and that he carried out the attack by himself.

Artan had fled Somalia with his family in 2007 before landing in Pakistan. He then moved to the United States in 2014, where he was granted legal, permanent status. It should be noted that Ohio State’s online directory only lists one student with the name, Abdul Artan.

While we expect more details will emerge about his background, as well as the motive behind the attack - which local police said was "done on purpose" and are treating the incident as a terrorist act - in the coming hours, a curious media report has emerged in which "The Lantern", Ohio State's campus newspaper, ran an interview with Artan on August 25 of this year, in which Artan criticized the school for not having Muslim prayer rooms on campus, and said "I'm a Muslim. It's not what the media portrays me to be."

The reason for his concern: “I wanted to pray in the open, but I was kind of scared with everything going on in the media,” he stated.
“I don’t blame them,” he continued. “It’s the media that put that picture in their heads so they’re just going to have it, and it’s going to make them feel uncomfortable.”
Three months later, Abdul - for reasons still unknown - tried to kill nearly a dozen innocent civilians.

Regarding Artan's motivation, sources told ABC News that authorities are looking at a Facebook posting online to determine if it is connected to the OSU suspect. The posting mentions radical cleric Anwar Awlaki and says, among other things: "I am sick and tired of seeing my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters being killed and tortured EVERYWHERE. ... I can't take it anymore. America! Stop interfering with other countries ... [if] you want us Muslims to stop carrying lone wolf attacks."

Of course, there is an irony in trying to take Americans' lives to protest America's "backlash" against Muslims; the person who prevented today's attack from being a bloody massacre is Officer Alan Horujko who fatally shot Abdul Razak Ali Artan.
