TSA wants armed law enforcement at checkpoints

Yahoo News
March 26, 2014

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Transportation Security Administration recommended Wednesday that airports post armed law enforcement officers at security checkpoints and ticket counters during peak hours.
The recommendation was one of 14 determined after a nationwide review of security at airports prompted by a fatal shooting at Los Angeles International Airport last fall.
The 25-page report to Congress was obtained by The Associated Press. Congress will now review the recommendations.
The AP has reported that the two armed officers at the LAX terminal had left for breaks and were out of the terminal at the time of the shooting. Airport police decided months earlier to have officers roam terminals instead of staffing checkpoints such as the one approached by a gunman.
The Transportation Security Administration conducted its own review of security at nearly 450 airports nationwide after the Nov. 1 shooting at LAX that killed TSA Officer Gerardo Hernandez — the agency's first line of duty death. Two officers and a passenger were also wounded.
Paul Ciancia, 24, opened fire with an assault rifle in an attack targeting the TSA, authorities said. The Pennsville, N.J.-native has pleaded not guilty to 11 federal charges, including murder of a federal officer.
TSA has held over 100 town hall meetings with officers across the country since the shooting to field suggestions to improve airport security. Dozens of groups have provided input, including law enforcement, airlines, airport operators and the TSA union.
Report recommendations include requiring that TSA employees go through twice yearly active shooter training and participate in related training exercises. The TSA also recommends acquiring panic alarms for areas where gaps have been identified, having these alarms routinely tested and encouraging that these alarms be linked to security cameras.
The Associated Press has reported that though TSA officers told airport officials that an officer hit the panic button, there was no evidence it happened. An airport-wide audit of red phones and panic buttons found some of those devices weren't working properly, including in Terminal 3— where the shooting took place.
A TSA supervisor picked up an emergency phone but fled the gunman before being able to speak. The airport police dispatcher only heard shouts and gunshots because the phone system didn't provide a location.
Because officers weren't in the terminal, an airline contractor called police dispatch directly on his cellphone, alerting officers nearly a minute and a half after the shooting began.
Another recommendation would extend the temporary redeployment of special teams to conduct random security sweeps.

TSA Agents Interrogate Jewish Author For Reading Conservative Newspaper

Federal goons assume role of political thought police

Image: Phyllis Chesler (YouTube).
Award winning Jewish author Phyllis Chesler was questioned and had her bag searched at New York’s JFK Airport as a result of a TSA agent’s suspicions over the fact that she was reading a conservative newspaper.
The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon after Chesler’s flight to Florida was delayed due to the recent ice storms.
As soon as Chesler pulled out a copy of The Jewish Press, a popular English language weekly with a conservative political bent, a TSA agent eyed her with suspicion, approached the author and asked to see the newspaper.
After the TSA agent scrutinized the cover of the newspaper and showed it to another security official, Chesler was ordered to open her luggage, which the two agents then proceeded to rifle through.
During the search, Chesler was interrogated by the two TSA workers. As her luggage was being searched, Chesler noticed that a Muslim woman wearing a niqab that covered her entire face apart from her eyes was allowed through security with no questions asked and with no one even bothering to verify her identity.
Image: The Jewish Press Newspaper.
Chesler was left alone after the two agents found nothing more deadly than a bottle of water. Despite their best efforts to assume the role of political thought police, the TSA workers discovered that reading a newspaper other than the New York Times or the Washington Post isn’t indicative of being a terrorist.
“The issue is not that the Jew was the one who was stopped and the Muslim was the one who sailed through security,” reports the Jewish Press. “The issue is that merely the word Jewish on a newspaper was sufficient to draw the agents’ attention and suspicion, while someone whose identity was impossible to discern, who could be hiding who knows what, was ignored by security – security! professionals.”
Is the TSA training its employees to treat people who read certain books or newspapers as potential security threats? The agency has already been derided for targeting people who wear alternative or political t-shirts.
As we recently highlighted, the federal agency has also instituted a policy in some airports where loudspeakers warn travelers that they could be arrested if they make jokes about the TSA or its increasingly ludicrous procedures.

TSA releases creepy animation to brainwash young children into accepting oppressive police state

Natural News
January 5, 2014

(NaturalNews) The U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is at it again with the police state propaganda, this time with the release of an animation aimed at brainwashing young children into accepting federal security checkpoints. An obvious attempt at justifying the agency's continued violations of the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, the TSA public affairs clip tells kids that screeners are there to keep us all "secure," in the process lying to them about what a TSA security screening actually entails these days.

Posted to YouTube on December 12, the video opens with a family of talking dogs walking up to the TSA security checkpoint at the airport. One of the younger dogs asks his dad why they have to stop, and his dad nonchalantly explains that the so-called "Stop, Screen, Go" process is completely normal. When the younger dog gets frightened at the blue suits sitting behind the checkpoint counter, his father reassures him with a plastered grin that the TSA is completely harmless.

"[I]t's not scary," explains the docile "father" dog to his son. "TSA officers are here to keep us secure. So don't worry, just remember: stop-screen-go."

You can view the full clip on YouTube here:
http://youtube.com.

TSA animation lies to children about screening protocol

Besides the obvious propaganda aspects of the animation, it is not even accurate in explaining to children how the TSA screening process actually works. As you will notice, the family of dogs in the clip is instructed to walk through a common metal detector after having their boarding passes scanned by the first round of TSA screeners. Anyone who has been to an airport within the past few years knows that naked body scanners are now the preferred screening method used by the TSA to assault innocent travelers, not metal detectors.

"Do we get our toys back?" asks the younger dog to his father after sending his personal items through the X-ray machine.

"Yep," responds the father dog. "You just need to walk through that rectangle first. It's a metal detector," he adds, ushering his family through the machine.

At no time during the clip is it explained that children and their families will most likely be forced to walk through a full-body backscatter X-ray machine that will blast them with cancer-causing radiation. And if not that, a full-body millimeter wave scanning machine designed to peep through travelers' clothing and take snapshots of their private parts.

Don't worry, son; the happy TSA agents are only groping your private parts for your own safety

Also missing from the "Stop, Screen, Go" process as it is presented in the animation is any mention of the full-body pat-down process, which is still forcibly administered to travelers who refuse to have their bodies visually molested by naked body scanners. Instead of being allowed to simply stroll through ametal detector, most air travelers are forced to submit to either visual or physical molestation at the hands of a random TSA screener.

But children are not told any of this in the new "TSA for Kids" propaganda blitz, a massive online endeavor replete with coloring book activities, word searches, exciting pictures and other marketing tools like this disturbing video animation, the sole purpose of which is to propagandize children into accepting federal checkpoints as normal.

"Children who grow up in this age are exposed to police state activities on all fronts," explains PoliceStateUSA.com. "When an entire generation has been brought up to accept these behaviors as normal, they are conditioned to offer no resistance in the face of the police state as an adult."

More Airports Set to Install TSA ‘Detention Pods’

Devices that critics liken to cattle grids have biometric capabilities
Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars.com
December 6, 2013
A new Transportation Security Administration directive that mandates airports provide security for terminal exits is likely to lead to the installation of more ‘detention pods’ which have the capability of subjecting travelers to biometric scans.
“Airports across the country have sued to block a new Transportation Security Administration directive that requires them, starting Jan. 1, to begin guarding exit security doors, as passengers leave flights and head for baggage claims,” reports the Associated Press.
The article notes that in order to comply with the regulation and save hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in staffing, airports may follow the example set by Atlantic City International, which has “installed five cylinder-shaped glass exit portals since 2009.”
These ‘detention pods’, which temporarily hold a traveler inside the portal until a green light and a voice command signals that the person can leave, have been compared to cattle grids by critics who see them as another way in which travelers are treated as prisoners inside the airport. According to Karen De Coster, the pods are a way “to remind you that you are a captive” and are “meant to make you feel like a prisoner who cannot leave.”
The detention pods, which are also in place at Syracuse International Airport, “were designed and approved by TSA,” according to Syracuse Airport Commissioner Christina Callahan.
Travelers have expressed confusion at the necessity of the pods. “I don’t understand those doors,” Cindy Katz, of Jupiter, Fla. told the Boston Globe. “What are they supposed to do? It slows everyone down.” The article also notes how some are concerned about “being scanned somehow while closed inside.”
Mindy Carpenter, who was waiting for friends to arrive at the airport complained, “It just took so long for the four of them to come through.”
The report adds that the detention pods “could be the wave of things to come,” and that their manufacturer, Eagle Security Group, is currently in talks with other airports.
As we previously highlighted, although the devices currently in use do not (at least publicly) utilize any kind of scanning technology, the pods do have biometric and object-detecting capabilities, meaning in the future Americans could face yet another stifling level of security simply to leave the airport.
A video demonstration of the devices shows a user biometrically scanning his fingerprint before he is allowed to leave the containment area.
“The identity of the user is guaranteed via fingerprint, iris or facial recognition scans before they are allowed to complete their passage from non-secure to secure areas. The Eagle ACP (Access Control Portal) with integrated biometrics of your choice is a complete solution,” states the company’s website.

Will LAX Shooting Be Exploited to Arm TSA Agents?

One TSA screener killed, media flip flops on gunman being off-duty TSA officer
Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars.com
November 1, 2013
UPDATE: The media is now reporting that the gunman was not an off-duty TSA officer, which is a strange flip flop from earlier when law enforcement sources said that he was. This can now be exploited to justify further TSA abuse of power, which would have not been possible if the shooter had been a TSA agent.
The L.A. Times reports: “A federal law enforcement official said that the gunman was a ticketed passenger entering the airport. Officials don’t believe the gunman has ever worked for TSA. Law enforcement sources had earlier told The Times the gunman was a TSA employee.”
A shooting at LAX airport today which killed at least one and wounded several other Transportation Security Administration screeners could be exploited as a justification to arm TSA agents, a plan that has likely been in the works for some time.
According to reports, a man approached a document checker at Los Angeles International Airport, pulled out a rifle and opened fire on a security officer.
Several people were wounded during the shooting, which went on for around half an hour, including a TSA agent who was shot in the leg.
According to the L.A. Times ”two or three TSA employees were hit by gunfire.”
NBC News later confirmed that one of the TSA agents was killed.
The suspect was described as a clean cut white male who fired an AR-15. The gun is seen lying on the ground in the image below.
It was subsequently confirmed that the shooter had been killed by police.
Reports indicate that the shooter was an off-duty TSA agent, suggesting the motivation could have been personal and not political. According to eyewitnesses, the gunman was clearly targeting TSA agents.
The gunman was apprehended but the incident prompted an evacuation of Terminals 2 and 3 and all planes were later grounded, with incoming planes being diverted.
“We were just standing there in line and somebody started shooting,” said eyewitness Nick Pugh . “Everyone dropped to the floor and started crawling along the ground, abandoning their suitcases.”

10 dire consequences of Obama’s re-election victory

Mike Adams
Natural News
Nov 7, 2012
As of this writing, it looks like Obama has a lock on the electoral college victory, although it simultaneously appears he has lost the popular vote to Romney.
What does an Obama re-election mean for the next four years in America? Now that he’s in his second and last term, of course, Obama no longer needs to restrain his actions according to popularity. He can simply unleash any desirable executive order and rule by decree, bypassing Congress as he has frequently promised to do.
This puts America in a very dangerous situation, given Obama’s well-demonstrated desire to destroy freedom and liberty in America. Remember: Obama is anti health freedom, anti food freedom, anti GMO labeling, anti medical freedom and anti farm freedom. He’s the one who issued an executive order claiming government ownership over all farms and farm equipment, in case you forgot that little fact.
He’s also the guy who just recently issued an executive order merging Homeland Security with local corporate entities to grant the executive branch of government a power monopoly over the nation, bypassing the courts and Congress. You probably haven’t even heard about that one, because he secretly signed it during Hurricane Sandy.
Given Obama’s atrocious track record on freedom during his first four years in the White House, here are my top 10 predictions for the next four (if America even lasts that long before ripping itself apart):
#1) Huge expansion of TSA and the surveillance state
Watch for TSA to expand its occupation of America by setting up checkpoints on roadways, sporting events, malls and “surprise” locations. Expect to see TSA agents become even more belligerent and lawless as they ramp up their sexual molestation of innocent victims.
#2) Expansion of secret arrests of American citizens
Obama secretly signed the NDAA, legalizing the secret arrests of U.S. citizens while denying them due process. Obama also authorized secret “kill lists” that claim to authorize the U.S. government to assassinate targeted individuals.
With his re-election in place, expect Obama to start issuing a mass of “kill orders” that will even start targeting political opponents.
#3) Acceleration of national debt blowout and endless fiat currency creation
Under Obama, the national debt experienced a massive blowout where Obama added trillions of dollars to the existing debt: www.USdebtclock.org
Right now, Obama is overseeing a trillion dollars a year in additional debt — an amount that simply cannot be sustained without running smack into a financial catastrophe. It now appears that financial collapse it going to occur under Obama, not Romney.
#4) Rapid expansion of GMOs and USDA collusion
Monsanto and the biotech corporations have thrived under the Obama administration thanks to USDA collusion and scientific fraud.
Over the next four years, expect GMOs to dominate the U.S. food supply while the Obama White House rejects any effort to try to label GMOs on a national basis.
#5) Increasingly dictatorial government health care
Obamacare will grow like a cancer, pushing Americans into mandatory vaccinations that inject children with mercury, formaldehyde, MSG and aluminum.
Look for the Obama administration to wage even more wars against raw milk freedom, farm freedom and food freedom, all while requiring yet more foods to be pasteurized or fumigated under the guise of “food safety.”
#6) Immediate surge in sales of guns and ammo
Obama has promised to try to destroy the Second Amendment and deny Americans the liberty to own firearms. With his re-election, expect to see a massive surge in gun sales as more people attempt to stock up in anticipation of gun bans (or government gun confiscation).
#7) Accelerated erosion of the Bill of Rights and civil liberties
Under Obama, civil rights, human rights and the Bill of Rights will be rapidly eroded. This goes hand in hand with the cancerous growth of government. As government expands its power and confiscates more economic resources, it simultaneously destroys individual liberties and due process.
This isn’t to say that Romney would have been any better, of course. Both candidates were philosophically invested in the rapid expansion of Big Government.
#8) Continued destruction and looting of the U.S. economy
Under Obama, the financial looting of the U.S. economy by the global bankster elite will continue. The same would have been true with Romney, by the way.
Under Obama, America’s unemployment rate will continue to head skyward, entitlements will be expanded, and the USA will be plunged into a tyrannical welfare state dominated by mindless zombies who have no cognitive grasp of reality.
#9) A “giant sucking sound” of employers leaving America
Ross Perot was right! That “giant sucking sound” is the sound of employers leaving America in droves, hiring offshore workers instead of creating jobs in the USA. And why? Because employers can’t afford to pay Obamacare mandates and still stay competitive in the global marketplace.
#10) Stepped-up attacks on veterans and preppers
Returning U.S. veterans will continue to be vilified by the Obama administration, to the point where even more veterans will be arrested as “terrorists” for engaging in fundamental preparedness strategies such as storing food, water, medicine and ammo.
Watch for the liberal media to join the White House in painting veterans as “dangerous” individuals needing psychiatric medications. Never mind the fact that the media owes preppers a huge apologyin the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

TSA to install molecular body scanners

RT News

TSA is introducing the new full body scanner system to the American airports. The scanners will be capable of detecting every tiny trace of any substance of your body to find gunpowder or any bomb making materials. However the devices can also trace the level of adrenaline in the body. RT's Kristine Frazao has more on the subject.

TSA Confiscates Camera, Deletes Footage of Checkpoint

TSA workers steal memory card, cop claims “It must have fallen on the ground”

Despite the TSA admitting on its own website that there is no law which prevents people from filming TSA checkpoints, a man traveling through San Juan airport in Puerto Rico had his camera confiscated and footage deleted.

Since the TSA deleted most of the video footage, this clip shows only the end of the incident.
Tom McCormack explains how he was repeatedly harassed by TSA officers and then police simply for filming at a body scanner checkpoint, before TSA agents violently grabbed his camera from him and disappeared, a concerning development given the fact that TSA workers are routinely caught stealing expensive personal items belonging to travelers.
The following account of the incident comes courtesy of the Pixiq website.
I was in the San Juan airport at noon (Sept 24) heading for St. Kitts.
I videotaped (Canon Power Shot) the podium where they make you show the passport/boarding pass, as I approached and then the next area with the X-ray scanners. It was busy. One TSA woman told me to stop from about 20 feet away. I didn’t.
They all seemed intrigued I wouldn’t follow their orders. A TSA guy soon approached me and said I had to stop. I kept the video going and said
“Sorry, it’s a Constitutional right.” He said “Okay” and walked back, a little indignant, to the X ray area.
When I went through X rays they were waiting for me. Two uptight TSA ladies rolled up on a cart and approached me. I grabbed my camera and started rolling; I wanted to capture the conversation with them.
One of them approached me and violently ripped the camera from my hands. I was shocked and told her to give it back and lunged for my camera. They took my camera and passport and boarding pass and ran off to some corner to confer with one another.
A police officer approached and asked where I was from. I said California. The conversation went like this:
Me: “I’m from California. Why?”
Him: “Well, each State has its own rules.”
Me: “But this is TSA. A Federal agency. Therefore the State laws don’t apply. Besides, the First Amendment of the Constitution trumps state rules.”
Him: “This is an airport. You can’t just videotape people. You need permission.”
Me : “Nonsense, this is a public arena. There is not permission required or any expectation of privacy here.”
Him: “No, Puerto Rico is not like the States. There are local laws that have nothing to do with the way they do things in the States.”
Me: “Look, let’s just agree to disagree. I don’t accept anything you say. I want my camera back. See stole it. I want her to give it back right now.”
Him: “She didn’t steal it. She just confiscated it because you violated the rules.”
The TSA lady reappeared with my camera, passport, boarding pass. I took it and started to walk away (pissed off) when I noticed the camera would not go on. I looked at the cartridge slot and it was gone. They had stolen it!
I showed the cop and said, “Look I want my cartridge (with 200 or so personal photos) back or I’ll call a lawyer and 911 to get more cops.
This is outrageous!” He seemed to be aware I was getting upset and the TSA ladies scurried off with the cop and came back 2 minutes later with the cartridge.
“It must have fallen on the ground” said the cop.
Yeah, right. Predictably all the videos of them giving me a hard time were deleted. The whole episode lasted about 10 minutes.
This story again reminds us that Americans are being harassed and in some cases arrested for filming either federal employees, in the case of the TSA, or police officers.

Columbus Ohio Airport Video Shows TSA’s Bizarre New Security Policy

Federal agency tests drinks purchased inside airport
Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars.com
Monday, September 3, 2012
A video clip shot yesterday at Columbus Ohio Airport illustrates how the Transportation Security Administration has dreamed up a bizarre new way to waste time and taxpayer dollars – by testing drinks purchased by travelers for explosives inside the airport long after they have already passed security.
The footage shows TSA agents walking around a departure lounge asking to test passengers’ drinks for explosive residue with a swab they hold over the liquid.
“Now remember that this is inside the terminal, well beyond the security check and purchased inside the terminal…just people waiting to get on the plane,” writes the You Tube user who uploaded the video.
“My wife and son came back from a coffee shop just around the corner, then we were approached. I asked them what they were doing. One of the TSA ladies said that they were checking for explosive chemicals (as we are drinking them). I said “really – inside the terminal? You have got to be kidding me.” I asked them if they wanted to swab us all. She responded with something like, ‘yes sometimes we need to do that’. I then asked if she wanted a urine sample…nonetheless, the TSA is way out of control,” he adds, joking that the TSA’s next move could be to visit people’s homes before they even leave for the airport (they’re already in the parking lot demanding to search people who aren’t even flying!)
As we have previously highlighted, the drinks policy was recently introduced with virtually no explanation from the TSA whatsoever. The much vaunted 2006 liquid bomb plot on which this nonsense is all based completely collapsed in court and was revealed to be farcical at best.
Experts have savaged rules relating to liquids being carried through security as pointless and unnecessary and yet they still remain in place six years later, with ludicrous cases routinely popping up of mothers having to drink their own breast milk or even pump it into empty bottles.
But this new rule applies to drinks purchased within the airport after travelers have already passed airport security, items that have presumably already had to pass some form of security check to be brought inside the airport in the first place.
The drinks testing farce has been accompanied by other harebrained TSA schemes which have virtually nothing to do with genuine security and everything to do with subjecting the public to intimidation and obedience training.
The federal agency recently brought in a similarly asinine new policy in which travelers are ordered to “freeze” on command by TSA screeners while passing through security – for no apparent reason other than to check they will obey orders without question.
Perhaps the TSA should concentrate on real security threats and cleaning up the behavior of their own criminally-prone employees instead of harassing travelers who have already been through the ordeal of a grope down or a radiation body scan.
Given the fact that TSA agents now festoon political events, highways and even prom nights, how long is it before we have blue-shirted goons in fast food restaurants checking whether or not our Diet Cokes are weapons of mass destruction?

New Homeland Security Laser Scanner Reads People At Molecular Level

CBS DC
July 11, 2012

WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – The Department of Homeland Security will soon be using a laser at airports that can detect everything about you from over 160-feet away.
Gizmodo reports a scanner that could read people at the molecular level has been invented. This laser-based scanner – which can be used 164-feet away — could read everything from a person’s adrenaline levels, to traces of gun powder on a person’s clothes, to illegal substances — and it can all be done without a physical search. It also could be used on multiple people at a time, eliminating random searches at airports.
The laser-based scanner is expected to be used in airports as soon as 2013, Gizmodo reports.

TSA Hired Reported Serial Sex Abuse Priest Pedophile As Screener

Man was removed from ministry after three cases of reported sexual abuse against young girls

A former Catholic priest who was defrocked after it was discovered he had sexually abused young girls is now working as a security screener for the TSA it has been revealed.
The CBS 3 I-Team in Philadelphia reports that Thomas Harkins, a priest in South Jersey until 2002, is now working at a security terminal at Philadelphia International Airport.
Although his main duty is to screen baggage, part of Harkins’ job with the TSA also involves screening passengers passing through body scanners and conducting pat-downs where necessary.
“The Diocese of Camden removed him from ministry because it found he sexually abused two young girls. Now, in a new lawsuit, a third woman is claiming she also is one of Harkins’ victims.” the CBS affiliate reports.
Details of the new lawsuit filed in a federal court against Harkins were revealed by the CBS team and they do not make for pretty reading. It says that he sexually abused an 11-year-old girl up to 15 times in the early 1980s when he was a priest at Saint Anthony of Padua parish in Hammonton, NJ.
The CBS team tracked Harkins down and confronted him over the allegations. He refused to answer questions and sought refuge in a restricted TSA security area.
“They should know who they’re hiring,” Karen Polesir, a Philadelphia spokeswoman with the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP) told CBS.
“As the public, we are screened to our underwear getting on a plane, and yet they hire a man like that.” she added.
Watch the CBS report:

The TSA claims that it puts all its employees through background checks, and that Harkins was not flagged because criminal charges were never brought against him.
However, as we have repeatedly noted, this is not an isolated case. In fact, the TSA has consistently hired violent criminals and even pedophiles, indicating that the agency does not follow through on background checks.
Last month, a television station in Atlanta reported that the TSA is so swamped with background checks it is now hiring just about anybody to grope and irradiate the public.
“In a move that could affect security at airports around the nation, the Transportation Security Administration confirmed Wednesday it had such a backlog of background security checks, airport employers were allowed to hire any employee needed,” WSBTV reported. “TSA officials said the background checks are delayed, but they are processing them as fast as they can.”

TSA screeners allegedly let drug-filled luggage through LAX for cash

LA Times Blog
April 26, 2012

Four current and former Transportation Security Administration screeners have been arrested and face charges of taking bribes and looking the other way while suitcases filled with cocaine, methamphetamine or marijuana passed through X-ray machines at Los Angeles International Airport, federal authorities announced Wednesday.
The TSA screeners, who were arrested Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, allegedly received up to $2,400 in cash bribes in exchange for allowing large drug shipments to pass through checkpoints in what the U.S. attorney in Los Angeles called a “significant breakdown” of security.
In addition to the two current and two former screeners, prosecutors also indicted two alleged drug couriers and a third who allegedly tried to smuggle 11 pounds of cocaine but was nabbed when he went through the wrong security checkpoint.
The TSA employees “placed greed above the nation’s security needs,” Andre Birotte Jr., U.S. attorney for the Central District of California, said in a statement.
The 40-page indictment outlines five alleged smuggling incidents over a six-month period last year. In one incident, screeners schemed to allow for about eight pounds of methamphetamine to pass through security, then went to an airport restroom where he was handed $600, the second half of the payment for that delivery, according to prosecutors.
Briane Grey, acting special agent in charge of the DEA in Los Angeles, said the scheme was particularly reprehensible because it took place at LAX.
“The defendants traded on their positions at one the world’s most crucial airport security checkpoints, used their special access for criminal ends, and compromised the safety and security of their fellow citizens for their own profit,” he said in a statement.
The indicted screeners are Naral Richardson, 30, and Joy White, 27, who were both fired by TSA last year; and John Whitfield, 23, and Capeline McKinney, 25, both currently employed as screeners. All four have been taken into custody, and face up to life in prison if convicted.
The accused drug couriers are Duane Eleby, 28, who is expected to surrender, and Terry Cunningham and Stephen Bayliss, both 28, who are both at large.
The TSA’s security director at LAX said the agency was assisting with the investigation. “While these arrests are a disappointment, TSA is committed to holding our employees to the highest standards,” Randy Parsons said in a statement.

Obama administration announces ‘War on Terror’ is over

In an astonishing bit of unexpected news, a senior State Department official has announced, “The war on terror is over.” This stems from the idea, reports theNational Journal, that, “it is no longer the case, in other words, that every Islamist is seen as a potential accessory to terrorists.”
photoCan we fire the TSA now?
The same official continues, “Now that we have killed most of al Qaida, now that people have come to see legitimate means of expression, people who once might have gone into al Qaida see an opportunity for a legitimate Islamism.”
This is great news, isn’t it? If the “War on Terror” is over, then we can repeal and reverse all the ridiculous police state laws that were put in place to protect us from terrorism… right?
I mean, can we now fire the TSA? They were only put in place after the “terror” attacks on 9/11. If the war on terror is over, the TSA is no longer needed (even if you assume they were effective at all, which they weren’t).
Can we now repeal the Patriot Act which was passed out of an urgency to defend America from terrorists?
Will Obama nullify the NDAA that he recently signed, which uses the excuse of the “war on terror” to legalize secret arrests and the stripping of due process from all Americans?
Can we now deconstruct the DHS and fire Janet Napolitano who has become the (nauseating) face of “fear your neighbor” campaigns?
Gee, if the War on Terror is over, then can we stop with the DHS buying 450 million rounds of hollow point ammo and bulletproof roadside checkpoint booths? (http://www.naturalnews.com/035649_DHS_ammunition_domestic_war.html)
And can we stop with the flying robotic spy drones that have now been launched from 63 launch sites across the USA? (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2134376/Is-drone-neighbourhoo…)
But no, of course.
The police state is not about stopping terror, it’s about promoting it
And why? Because all these things mentioned abovewere never designed to stop terrorists. They were designed to imprison the American people and turn America into a police state dictatorship drowning ina culture of fearpromoted by the state.
“War is the health of the state,” said Randolph Bourne, a writer and intellectual who lived a century ago.
That’s why these police state laws will never be revoked. In fact, they will likely be expanded with yet more legislation, more nullification of the Bill of Rights, more secret arrests and more secret prisons endorsed by Obama (yeah, the guy who once ran on the platform of shutting down secret military prisons but turned out to be a total liar… is anyone surprised?).
That’s because the government IS the terrorist! That’s why the FBI has been caught numerous times staging phony terror plots in the United States (http://www.naturalnews.com/034325_FBI_entrapment_terror_plots.html). The 9/11 attacks wereclearlystaged, as how do you cause THREE buildings to collapse using only TWO airplanes? (WTC 7). (http://www.naturalnews.com/033684_911_truth_WTC_7.html)
That’s why all this surveillance and police state power that was enacted in response to the 9/11 attacks will be kept in place indefinitely! Because it’s really about waging a war on the American people, not a war with some fictitious, unseen enemy.
The best writer on this subject, by the way, is Paul Craig Roberts. His website is a must-read information source for all those who wish to understand why America is being steadily and deliberately transformed into a police state dictatorship. Read his articles at:
