Missouri Lawmakers Pass Sweeping Gun Rights Expansion

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Missouri lawmakers have passed a sweeping expansion of gun rights in the state, one that would allow people to carry concealed guns without requiring permits and widen their right to stand and fight against perceived threats.
The legislation, which now goes to Gov. Jay Nixon for his signature, was among the most prominent measures passed by the Republican-controlled Legislature on the final day of its annual session on Friday. Mr. Nixon, a Democrat, did not have an immediate comment on the bill.
Under the measure, most people would be able to carry concealed guns, even if they have not completed the training currently required to obtain a permit.
The legislation would also expand the state’s “castle doctrine” by allowing invited guests, such as babysitters, to use deadly force against intruders. It would also create a “stand your ground” right, meaning people would not have to retreat from danger in any place they are legally entitled to be present.
While many Democrats denounced it, Republican supporters of the bill described the measures as reasonable approaches to personal safety.
“There won’t be blood in the streets,” said State Representative Joe Don McGaugh, a Republican. “But what there will be is more people protected by the right to bear an arm legally.”
Ten other states already have what supporters describe as “constitutional carry” laws allowing concealed guns without permits, including ones enacted this year in Idaho, Mississippi and West Virginia, according to the National Rifle Association.
The N.R.A. says 30 states have laws or court precedents stating people have no duty to retreat from a threat anywhere they are lawfully present. But Missouri’s measure would make it the first new stand your ground state since 2011, according to both the N.R.A. and Everytown for Gun Safety, a gun control advocacy group.

Every Mass Shooting in the US Since the 1950s Except Two Occurred in Gun Free Zones

A professor from Purdue researched mass shootings from the 1950s on and discovered that only two of them occurred where guns are legal to be carried. This really blows apart liberal arguments that more guns means more mass shootings. Between 2004 and 2012, gun ownership increased by 61%. But since 2008, violent crimes decreased by 12.9%. Eric Dietz, Ph.D., the former director of Homeland Security for the state of Indiana and a 22-year Army veteran, and now a professor at Purdue University, set out to find out how armed citizens could prevent deaths.
In order to examine the results, he chose to study the most common gun free zone in America, and also the place most mass shootings take place, (Outside of Chicago) public schools. Dietz outlined 4 scenarios and using statistical math, developed a model whereby he could estimate the results. He noted that since schools are gun free, they have to rely on the police, who on average take 10 – 12 minutes to respond to a live shooting. Given the fact that a mass shooter can kill a person every twenty seconds, the delay can costs a lot of lives.
Here are the four scenarios Dietz used in his study:
• Scenario 1: No access to control or security.
• Scenario 2: Resource officer
• Scenario 3: 5-10 percent of work force has concealed carry
• Scenario 4: 5-10 percent of work force has concealed carry and a resource officer
In study number one, it was determined that the most crucial aspect is time. The more time a shooter has, the more people he can kill.
Moving on to the second scenario, that includes an armed resource officer, casualties dropped by a whopping 66.5% and response time was cut by 59.5%.
In the third scenario, with 5%-10% of the workforce armed, there is a decrease in fatalities of when 5% of the workforce is carrying concealed weapons of 6.8% and response time is reduced by 5.4%. When 10% of the workforce is armed causalities dropped by 23.2% and response time was slashed by 16.8%.
But the most amazing statistic is that when 5% of the workforce is armed AND they have a resource officer present, the fatality rate drops 69.2% and response time improved by 57.9%. With 10% armed and a resource officer, the fatality rate drops by 70.2% and response time by 62.7%.

Dietz says he still has some work to do.  He wants to see if in cases where there is no active shooter present, would the guns being carried by school personnel lead to violence in the schools.  Since many schools have armed guards already, with no incidences of violence, his report will not aid the gun grabbing liberals.

When George Hicks was beaten up and robbed inside his R&J Laundromat in 2010, he was not armed.
So when a man in a hoodie walked into his Dayton, Ohio business Monday afternoon, shoved Hicks and demanded cash, the 90-year-old was prepared for a different outcome, WGRT-TV reported.
Hicks grabbed his gun and chased the thug out the door, WKRC-TV in Cincinnati reported.
Then Hicks dialed 911. The dispatcher asked, “Did he take any money?”
“No. No. When he shoved me, I jumped up and went for my gun and when I went for my gun I said I’ll blow your [expletive] brains out and he was gone,” Hick replied.
Was Hicks scared?
“Why get scared? I’ve got the gun and he’s running,” he told the Dayton Daily News Tuesday. “It was just funny.”
Police said the suspect is a white male, the Daily News said.
“I want to shake the man’s hand,” Tom Mauro, owner of the nearby Third Base Drive Thru, told WGRT. He can relate to Hicks: When two masked men tried to rob him in September, Mauro grabbed his gun and shot one of them in the chest, WGRT reported.
“I work seven days a week here and I really don’t want people coming in here taking what doesn’t belong to them. I won’t put up with it,” Mauro said.

And yet, the Statist has an insatiable appetite for control. His sights are set on his next meal even before he has fully digested his last. He is constantly agitating for government action. And in furtherance of that purpose, the Statist speaks in the tongue of the demogogue, concocting one pretext and greivance after another to manipulate the public perceptions and build popular momentumfor the divestiture of liberty and property from its rightful possessors. The industrious, earnest, and successful are demonized as perpetrators of various offenses against the public good, which justifies government intervention on behalf of an endless parade of "victims". In this way, the perpetrator and the victim are subordinated to the government's authority- the former by out-right theft, the latter by a dependent existence. Although propaganda is a common tool used in media, no one entity has used it more for its own advantage than governments.

And with the latest infringement on our Liberties, Obama has exploited the very thing he claims to want to protect- our children.

Recently, while trampling the Constitution, Obama surrounded himself with innocent children, and has vowed to stop "gun violence" through what he and the controlled media call executive action or i.e. executive order.

As he signed the executive orders, he surrounded himself with children. Of course, this is done to gather support for the legislation using the innocence of children while systematically stripping America of it's liberty.

A similar scenario took place in 1938, when Hitler decided to ban all Jews from owning, manufacturing, or even dealing in any way with firearms or ammunition.

In Hitler's book, Mein Kampft, Hitler stated about the exploitation of children to destroy the liberties of a people:

"The State must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation."
Hitler often surrounded himself with children and had photos taken in order to exploit their innocence while preparing for the demonization, deportation and ultimately, the destruction of the Jewish people. While some of the regulations in the 1938 bill were somewhat beneficial to German citizens at that time, the Jews suffered horribly because of the strict ban against them, preventing them from defending themselves later when the mass murdering of them began.



Despite the fact that everyday, many lives are actually saved because Americans have the right to own, and carry firearms, the State controlled media wants you to think guns are the "evil" causing the shootings in our society. While it is a tragedy that there are those who will sometimes commit violent acts using a firearm, it is important to remember that our Second Amendment is what stands between Liberty and Tyranny here in the United States.

We have a corrupt political system, corrupt bankers, and an Elite group of those who have decided to transform America for their benefit -not ours. Private ownership of firearms is an obstacle to the Statist and his resolve to destroy the middle class, and competition that rises from them. 

There will be those that argue that the President and the White house are merely restricting "assault" style rifles, and High capacity magazines, only the amount of rounds allowed in each magazine. However, what is not considered is the fact that criminals do not follow laws. That is why they are called criminals! In many instances of school or theater shootings, there were already gun laws restricting some of these very things, and yet the shootings still took place. Had there been law-abiding citizens with concealed carry permits that were on the scenes of these shootings, the death tolls could certainly been lowered or even prevented altogether.

There is always going to be those that want to break the rules. My purpose in writing this is not to convince you that I want the "OK corral" setting or a "Dodge City" America. I simply want to be free to live my life with the opportunity at "life, liberty in the pursuit of happiness".

In Obama's recent speech against gun violence, he stated:
"Weapons designed for the theater of war have no place in a movie theater."
While this sounds very noble and has the ring of concern, the truth within the words is something that many do not consider. Assault  weapons are designed for the theater of war. In the theater of war, an assault weapon has the ability to fire semi or automatic. Assault "Style" weapons are not able to fire automatic. They have the appearance of an assault weapon, but not the same capabilities.

But the real truth behind Obama's words reveal the true desire of a Statist. 

A Statist does not want resistance from the subjects he rules over. He therefore sees the capability of his subjects to mobilize into militias with assault styled weapons that can provide some resistance against a tyrannical government as the real threat. The "executive actions" being signed by the administration are meant to destroy the ability for a "well regulated militia" and the obligation to rise up against tyrannical government after a "long train of abuses".

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. I am not advocating a violent overthrow of the present government. I am merely pointing out that our right to have weapons for private use and defense, is what has ultimately kept us free since our great nation was founded.

TED NUGENT: OBAMA'S GUN-CONTROL PLANS 'PSYCHOTIC'

Rock legend and gun-rights activist Ted Nugent took the Obama administration to task Sunday evening for pledging to make gun control a priority, telling a radio host the president’s plans are practically “psychotic.”
“A person who lives by logic and studies history and tries to implement the lessons learned by history cannot begin to rationally explain the conduct of this president or his attorney general or this administration,” Nugent said. “It is psychotic, it is crazy, it is illogical.”

Nugent was speaking to Aaron Klein of New York WABC Radio’s “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio.”
Nugent explained that many people have reacted in fear, backing schemes of gun control or even outright gun bans in the wake of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
But disarming American citizens, Nugent claims, is exactly the wrong approach.
“Obama’s dream already exists, and those are called gun-free zones, and that is where the most innocent lives are lost,” Nugent told Klein. “What kind of monster would want more of these? Because if you ask for more gun-free zones, if you further disarm innocent Americans, you are literally engineering slaughters.”
Nugent is a rock legend with over 40 million albums sold, a New York Times bestselling author and a board member of National Rifle Association.

No Time To Disarm America

In the wake of the terrible tragedy that occurred last week at a Connecticut elementary school, the opinions have begun following in from both sides of the gun control debate. The debate is sure to become increasingly fallacious and nasty in coming months as people on both sides make ridiculous claims to support their case.
President Barack Obama spoke over the weekend at a memorial service for the 26 victims of Adam Lanza’s horrifying shooting rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School. His speech, some people (gun-control advocates, no doubt) gushed, was akin to Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.
Here is part of the President’s speech:
We can’t tolerate this anymore. These tragedies must end. And to end them, we must change. We will be told that the causes of such violence are complex, and that is true. No single law—no set of laws can eliminate evil from the world, or prevent every senseless act of violence in our society.
But that can’t be an excuse for inaction. Surely, we can do better than this. If there is even one step we can take to save another child, or another parent, or another town, from the grief that has visited Tucson, and Aurora, and Oak Creek, and Newtown, and communities from Columbine to Blacksburg before that—then surely we have an obligation to try.
In the coming weeks, I will use whatever power this office holds to engage my fellow citizens—from law enforcement to mental health professionals to parents and educators—in an effort aimed at preventing more tragedies like this. Because what choice do we have? We can’t accept events like this as routine. Are we really prepared to say that we’re powerless in the face of such carnage, that the politics are too hard? Are we prepared to say that such violence visited on our children year after year after year is somehow the price of our freedom?
The President is prepared to “use whatever power this office holds to engage my fellow citizens” to prevent further tragedies like what occurred in Connecticut. Because, he asserted, Americans must protect the children.
The President’s words are strong, and combined with his past positions there is little doubt that his plan involves launching anything less than a full on assault on Americans’ right to own semi-automatic weapons.
In a USA Today column last week, Glenn Reynolds channeled famed author and renowned gun activist William S. Burroughs in describing what the government’s most likely course of action will be:
“After a shooting spree,” author William Burroughs once said, “they always want to take the guns away from the people who didn’t do it.” Burroughs continued: “I sure as hell wouldn’t want to live in a society where the only people allowed guns are the police and the military.”
Many Americans disagree with Burroughs’ opinion and are pushing for police and military personnel to be society’s sole armed protectors. And in gun-free zones, such as schools and many State and Federal properties, they are.
Those places have also become magnets for crazed gunmen. The cowardly mind-set of a man willing to kill at random — despite the anti-hero persona mainstream media seek to affix to these individuals — doesn’t lend itself well to ballsy attacks on rooms filled with armed men. Instead, they seek out the weakest or most unassuming targets imaginable: moviegoers in a darkened theater, attendees at a political rally, mall shoppers or schoolchildren.
And no matter what utopia the American left believes we inhabit, laws banning (and the all-out confiscation of) even every firearm manufactured will not stop the killing. Those capable of murder believe themselves to be far superior to any laws of man.
Perhaps a better option would involve a lessening of gun laws and an American realization that it is not up to the police, but to the citizen to ensure his own safety.
Speculation is reckless, but it is very tempting to fantasize about how Friday morning may have turned out differently if the school had been full of armed and trained teachers with easy access to firearms.
“Guns in schools, the horror,” liberal Americans might say. They may even venture to believe that frustrated armed teachers could be dangerous to students, though that seems very unlikely given the stories of teacher heroism coming from Connecticut where those educators likely wished they had tools at their disposal to better protect themselves and their students.
In 2008, the isolated Harrold Independent School District in Texas made an addition to its $100,000 state-of-the-art security system because administrators feared an armed intruder could do much damage in the 20 minutes it could take police to arrive. Feeling students and staff would be safer if on-site, trained staff members were equipped to handle a crisis at a moment’s notice, they decided to allow teachers to train and carry firearms to school.
In the years since, no gun has been brandished and no student hurt by an armed teacher. In fact, reports indicate that the students really didn’t have much at all to say about the policy. But the school district’s superintendent David Thweatt made a good point in 2009, a year after the policy went into place.
“We’re the first responders. We have to be,” Thweatt said. “We don’t have 5 minutes. We don’t have 10 minutes. We would have had 20 minutes of hell” if attackers had targeted the school.
Despite the President’s opinions, it is no time for gun rights activists to back off on the fight to keep and bear all legal firearms. We are all our own first responders and the protectors of those in our care who cannot defend themselves.

It’s a question that inevitably crosses millions of minds every day, but in the wake of the tragedies in Aurora, Colo., and Milwaukee, Wis., the what ifs in recent weeks have revolved around firearms, ammunition and the laws that surround them from state to state.
What if gun laws were stricter? What if someone kept track of how much ammunition the suspect had been purchasing over the past several months? What if citizens were stripped of Second Amendment rights?
Or what if someone in the theater had his or her concealed weapons license and was carrying that evening? Could a legitimate gun owner have prevented these shootings by taking out the assailant?
“It’s hard to assume, to say things could have been better or maybe worse if someone at either of these two incidents had his or her concealed weapons permit and was carrying a firearm,” said Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office Capt. Jeremy Granier, who oversees the department’s concealed weapons courses. “It’s difficult and almost irresponsible to say things may have been different. These people were going to commit these crimes with or without stricter gun laws. I don’t know if stricter gun laws would have prevented either incident. The big push across the state right now is ‘see something, say something.’ If you see something unusual or see suspicious activity, alert the authorities.”
Granier, who has been overseeing the concealed-weapons course for more than five years, said the number of concealed-weapons applicants has not gone up locally in the wake of the events.
“The majority of those who come to the concealed weapons class don’t go through with getting the permit,” Granier said. “They just want to learn about gun safety and gun laws.”

Second Amendment advocates are expressing alarm that the most significant attack on gun rights across the United States in years soon could come in the form of a workplace "safety" regulation under President Obama's nominee to run the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Obama has nominated David Michaels, a George Washington University professor and the chief of the Project on Scientific Knowledge and Public Policy, which reportedly partially is funded by George Soros.
